Ever have one of those moments that you just want to hold onto forever? One of those fleeting, surreal, blessed times of emotion, honesty and numbing peace? Ever have one of those blessings of genuine understanding? Of wanting no more, and no less, than to pour out your truest feelings, truest words, and truest reflection of your soul? Each experience of this is the greatest moment for amazing clarity and truth. And frankly, I wish I had more of them during the times that mattered most... rather than in reflection of those wasted opportunities to share the desires of my soul... Never let the moment pass, nor the sun descent, or the wind change direction before you share the perfect love of your heart, the purest longing of your soul and the greatest dream of your life. Because that time is a blessing for all the world and greatest gift for pure and given love... Letting this time pass by gains nothing but another occasion to write simplistic poetry... And a poem cannot tell your wife how much you love her, how much you cherish her, how much you miss the touch of her hand or the sound of her laugh... A poem is just written photograph of the memory of an emotion, a longing and a regret... Do not allow yourself to say "I never..."
I never...
I never thought a single day
Would pass into the night
I never dreamed I'd fail to say
Words to make it right
I never wanted a single time
To be without your love
I couldn't bear that you were mine
Blessed gift, snow white dove
I never knew what it would take
To show how much I cared
I never thought I would wake
To new morning in the air
I never really said good-bye
With truth and honest glow
I never found a new good-night
To make this seem not so
I never shared emotion wrought
Or drowned in loving blood
I never spoke the words I ought
To gift of purest love
I never held a beating heart
As close as true love can
I never thought we would part
My life, my love, my Anne.
I never...
I never thought a single day
Would pass into the night
I never dreamed I'd fail to say
Words to make it right
I never wanted a single time
To be without your love
I couldn't bear that you were mine
Blessed gift, snow white dove
I never knew what it would take
To show how much I cared
I never thought I would wake
To new morning in the air
I never really said good-bye
With truth and honest glow
I never found a new good-night
To make this seem not so
I never shared emotion wrought
Or drowned in loving blood
I never spoke the words I ought
To gift of purest love
I never held a beating heart
As close as true love can
I never thought we would part
My life, my love, my Anne.
