I have had various experiences with thoughts which I understood were communication of God or not from God.
One thing I enjoy is how I can forget something which I might need to remember, and it is like God shoots a memory into my mind, like a BB. It is not like I simply get myself to remember it. And it can be something important, though practical.
And Jesus says the Holy Spirit will bring things to our remembrance, of what He has said.
So, from this I do get that memory can be a function of the Holy Spirit in us.
Also, I be still while I pray and do not try to say or think anything. And I wait for however God would please to have me in His peace so I can discover what and how I am thinking once I am in peace. This helps plenty, I will offer you
The thinking can be easy to see to be inspiration . . . so better than how I can tend to think and see things.
And at times while watching TV or talking with my lady friend I have thought a word which I do not hear often and right then it will be in the broadcast or she will say it. And I understand that God or another spiritual being could know what would be said on TV or by her, and have me think it just before hearing it. So, this shows me that there is more than how I know and control things.
And I see poetry in what is going on with people. So, it is not only thoughts, but what is happening in people's lives.
I help with a truck ministry for needy people. Two sisters help. One looks like the first woman I ever really fell for, and her name is the same as the first girl I chose to be my girlfriend > "both were blond, by the way" comes to mind, right now. The other sister has the same name . . . not a common one . . . of the daughter of a pastor where I integrated an inner city church. So, these are not coincidences which would be common, I would say. And I see this poetry of people's lives and names often.
But it is best when there is loving involved, like in the truck ministry. It is not with me isolated, but in sharing with more and more people.
