Today at his baseball practice, my brother's team mates pretty much showered him in baseballs, two of them hitting him in the jaw. half of them came from one kid, and when my brother threw one back, HE got chewed out by the coach. My brother has only a few close friends, and everyone else pretends to like him. I would really appreciate your prayers not only for my brother but for the kid who threw most of the balls. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Poor kid. How old is he? Why did they do that to him? Why is the coach against him? What did he do? As far as friends go, everyong I know only has a few "close" friends. And most people pretending they like him. That is called casual friendships or acquaintences. But pelting someone with baseballs seems a bit extreme. I was never mr. popular and always had few friends, but never did the baseball team I was on pelt me with balls. I was a lousy player,too. Probably the worse on the team. Football too. Poor guy.

kids can sometimes be cruel, but you have to wonder what kind of home life the little boy throwing the baseballs has? I pray for your brother, for his strenght, and for his safety. I also pray for the others, that their hearts will be softened, and they will learn the golden rule.
