I need your advice, help & prayer!!!

Hi,

This is my first post....I have lurked a bit but now I truly need your help and I hope someone can advise me as to what to do.

After September 11th I started spending time on a Muslim board because I wanted to see what people were thinking...anyway short story short...There are only maybe three or four Christians there the other Non-Muslims are either atheist or are following there own path (belief in a higher being, but not Christian or Muslim).

The problem is that one of the few Christians is losing his faith...and I feel it is partially my fault because it was during a thread where I was trying to get some questions answered concerning the differences between the Christian and Muslim religion.

Below I will post where he started to doubt his faith:


First he posted this:

Thank you very much that is as clear of an explaination as i have ever heard.Honestly not only did you give the some of the excact Quranic verses i was searching for you explained them right down to the wire,,,,you would be a great islamic sunday school teacher ,,now on to some really out there questions,,,why cant one believe Jesus is the son of God without making him a God himself,,,,ive never quite understood calling him Lord any way,,,,Hes Gods son,,,which i always thought made them to obvious seperate entities,,,you have the Lord then Jesus,,,i never really combined the thought of the two,,,and as for the holy spirit,,,i never understood that concept,,,im not saying one way or another about it exsisting,,,i just have never understood the concept of the holy ghost,,,i honestly think thats a cathlic thing,,,and im not even sure you can catigorize cathlics as christians,,,they pray to mary not Jesus,,,i guess what im getting at is can one believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross for our sins,,,without calling him God,,,i have always thought that God(Allah) was one single entity,,,,hmmmm,,,lol,,,you darned muslims(sarcastic joke),,,now im all confused!at any rate while i go figure out my own beliefs,i just wanted to say thanks Jamila for taking time out to explaine some things from an islamic point of view.Aand also thanks for being so patient with everyone exspecially me

Im sitting here before you typing as befuddled as i have been in a long while,,,,i know my beliefs frimly,,,but from what i can tell its a mix of the major religions,,,,i believe in one God(Allah),the God af Abraham,,,i also believe Jesus was his son,,,i also believe that he(Jesus) died on the cross for my sins,,,,i do not believe how ever he is God,,,i honestly believe they are two different entities,,,as i pray to God(Allah),,,,but i also thank Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins,,,i honestly believe in the full list of prophets that come with islam,,,when i sin i ask for the Lords forgivness,,,I had always thought for sure i am a christian,,,maybe yall can answer that one


I am VERY upset about this turn of events...I am a fairly new Christian....I am still studying the scripture and the fact is...I am not sure what to say.

I really want to help this person so they do not lose there faith, but now I am afraid I might make things worse. I have been praying for guidance but I still feel tongue tied....can anyone help?

Any advice, help or prayers would be appreciated!!

Will pray for both of you. But must ask what is your heart truely saying about the Muslim forum?. Have you talked to your friend about your concern? What action do you believe God is wanting you to take?

I will pray that God will lead and protect you both through this.

i'm praying for him.

Does he go to church? it'd be good if he could seek advice and find out more about Christianity from his church. CF would be another good place to clear some of his misunderstandings about the way a Catholic worships and things like the trinity etc.

the Holy Spirit is stated in the bible... that He is the Counsellor, to guide us in our hearts.

Hi Sarah,
I am praying for him. Tell him your concerns, quite possibly he is searching and there is nothing wrong with that, its part of life. Sometimes in life we have to lose our way to find ourselves...
I wish you and he only the best. He is lucky to have you as you show genuine concern for him. Ask him to join here, it would benefit him greatly...

I agree with having him join here. I think there are many forums on here with good strong Chrisitians that could answer the questions he is having right now. How can he except to find the true answers about Christianity on a Muslim board?

I pray that God will guide his heart to the truth. And for you as you try to help him.

Thanks to all for your responses and especially for you prayers. I will try to get him to join this site. I wrote him a PM yesterday and asked him to contact me so we could work through his questions together. I have received no response yet, but I am praying that he will.

I am sure that once he showed an interest in Islam he has been bombarded with PMs from the Muslims on the board. I just hope that he gives me a chance to help him with his confusion. Please continue your prayers.
