  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi to you all,
I'm a 8 month old born again Christian and hungry for knowledge.I believe I've grown to a teenager stage. But I'm now thinking about leaving my church and seeking other Christians in other churches.
I already go to prey meetings, bible studies and starting a discipleship course at 3 other churches. I do this because my church can not offer these at the moment and l fill I'm not progressing fast enough.
Most of my church family are long time Christians and have been a great help to me,but i feel I've become hard work now, because I'm at the stage of questions why things happen and giving my points of view.Which at some points I get completely wrong and I'm not being corrected.
l fill that l'm quitting on church,by leaving .Your thoughts would be greatly received God Bless

Don't worry if you feel overwhelmed with questions. This is normal. The best thing to do is to concentrate on the basics first. Take a deep breath, and slowly work your way up to the more difficult questions. What God wants from you now is faith, and sometimes that means we don't have all the answers right away.

Dear kenrose. In Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40, Jesus tells a Lawyer: " the first and great Commandment is: love thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is: love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus goes on saying: " on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." To love is what God wants, love selflessly and beneficially. You could concentrate now on loving all you know and all you meet, and treat them as you would like to be treated yourself. God will see your efforts and approve and bless you, and you will find that people will treat you the same, and Jesus will give you His Love and Joy to share, too. And the Holy Spirit will empower you with love, and before long, there will be love wherever you go. Love is a Christian`s weapon, and love will grow and grow. We are told to Repent, to change our selfish and unloving characters into Loving God with all our beings, and loving each other as we love ourselves. Let our love be patient and kind, always ready to forgive as God has forgiven us, and to give a helping hand (where needed) rather than look the other way. Sow love, Ken and you will reap a harvest of Joy and Faith. People can see the Love of God in action. I say this humbly and with love. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

In my humble opinion you are not
"quitting on church,by leaving"

You may feel like you are abandoning your christian brothers but I do not think this is the case! Just because you are looking for new-christians to be a part of your life does not mean that you cannot remain friends with your old church members! :)
hope my post helped!

Don't worry too much abut churchs, just find one with a fellowship you like and maybe examine their views.

The Body of Christ is ONE: whether a poor person with only a Bible, or many churchs with a variety of worship to offer. Fellowship helps though...

"ALL shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life."

This implies everyone, the whole world. Will the whole world go Christian? Will therefore only a remnant be saved?

Let it mean everything to you, and dive into your Bible... Be very untrusting onto this world and its ways...
