CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Have you considered finding things that you can sell? I am just wondering if you have given that any thought. I ask that because I myself am very entrepreneurial in nature and have done a lot of studying relating to things like sales, marketing and other related things with the intention of starting and running my own businesses. During my studies I have become very aware of what is called bootstrapping. That is where you do things like find things that you can sell on eBay and other places and then use that money towards funding one or more businesses. It is something that I learned from reading the book 'How to start your own business' which is published by Entrepreneur Press. I have also listened to people like Bruce A. Berman and others talk heavily about selling yourself wealthy and being the boss.
I personally think that your idea is a great one and that you are on the right track and that the advice given you about writing a business plan is good advice as well. I don't know what you and your fiance have right now that you can put toward your business, but the more that you can put down out of your own pocket by doing things like finding things to sell and other related things, then the less control you will be giving to someone else that might choose to invest in your business.
As far as business loans go. That is a possibility, but you have to have a well written business and marketing plan and you will need to have good to excellent credit if you go to a bank or credit union to get a loan. If your business was already established, then I would tell you to go to the SBA and try to get a loan from them, but they generally only want to work with people who have established businesses and have been in business for a while. That is the way that I understand it, but you can still check with them as well. Maybe they might know of something that I don't.
Another thought that might be to your benefit is for you and your fiance to go to your local SBA office and speak with someone from SCORE. They are all retired executives that work on a volunteer basis. They can look at everything that you have for you and help you to figure out what your options and avenues might be for starting your own business.
I do agree with what everyone is saying about a lot of businesses failing within the first couple of years, but that in my book is usually the result of poor planning on the part of the business owners and management and is something that I personally believe can be overcome if you know what you are doing.
Above all believe in yourself and your business and don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done. Believing in yourself and your business is the first step towards making it a reality. There are a lot of naysayers out there that can and will try to discourage you from doing your business so do yourself a favor and don't listen to them as most of them are idiots.
I personally am not in a position to help you financially with your business, but I do believe that you can be successful at it and that you can make it a smashing success as long as you pay attention to the details and don't let anyone get in your way of achieving your dream and goal.
