My husband's working in Lincoln now...The apartment we're eye balling is in Talladega...

What's it like there?

Generally safe area?

Busy or laid back?

Country or Business?

How Close to Water?

and of course, any AOG or COG churches in the area?

Thanks for any help!

Hey There!

I'm an Alabama girl and grew up about 40 minutes from Talledega.

My husband's working in Lincoln now...The apartment we're eye balling is in Talladega...

What's it like there? Welcome to the country! Talledega is a pretty small town except for the two times a year NASCAR comes to visit. The HONDA plant has made it a little less rural, but still for the most part you will find regular hardworking honest country folk.

Generally safe area? I would definitely expect so.

Busy or laid back? Laid back.

Country or Business? Country. There's cows and chicken houses. Most folks have a garden every summer.

How Close to Water? Real close - we've had indoor plumbing for at least 35 years! Seriously, Alabama has a LOT of lake areas. So you aren't too far - really I'd say less than an hour away from three lakes that I can think of.

and of course, any AOG or COG churches in the area? I'm sure there are. But since we are not AOG or COG I can't point you to any specific congregations. Sorry.

We live in the Leeds/Moody area. I forgot to look to see if you have children. Once you get down here, you can look around the surrounding county areas and decide what schools you would prefer to have your children in.

Some of the best advice and information you can get will probably come from your husband's coworkers.

I was raised in East Central Alabama so I am biased. We may not be the most sophisticated people out here, but I don't know of anywhere better I could have grown up in. I hope you enjoy it here!

Thanks for any help!
