• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

hey... I have just signed up and so am a bit new to this. I read over the rules for posting on this forum, and hope that I don't say anything I'm not meant to :o Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could pray for me cos I really need it at the moment. I'm currently recovering from annorexia but sometimes I dip into the binge eating thing. I really hate it and don't want to be like this. I don't want to binge eat, but I don't want to have to deal with the guilt and depression that follow even more. I also hate to be a burden on my family. Could I please ask for some prayer?

Thanks :)

You can always ask for prayers and we are more than willing to pray for you. :prayer:

If you ever feel like you need to say something that may be a bit triggering, how about writing
*trigger* and *end trigger* just to warn people? Sometimes it's better to say those things that are getting you down.

You are not a burden on your family. They love you and they only want to help you. Do you have someone you can talk to?

I just want to say that I am so proud of you that you are in recovery. It takes a lot of guts to do that and even more to continue. You need to surround yourself with supportive friends and a healthy environment and coming here is probably one of the best things you can do.

I am always here if you need to talk. Just PM me.

I am praying for you, Eggity.
:prayer:

Thanks so much for your reply. It's uplifting to know that other people are praying for me. I've been feeling pretty down lately cos throughout my recovery my Mum has been there to help me all the way. But the other day she said something that made it clear that she was getting sick of helping me. I feel so alone now. I guess that's why I turned to this forum. All the things I used to talk to her about she doesn't want to hear anymore and I have to deal with on my own.

So anyway, just wanted to say thanks for your prayers, and thanks for letting me get that off my chest
