My mother past away 1 1/2 years ago.... Today would have been her 71st birthday. I miss her.... There was a time when I prayed that God would just take her home. She was so broken and used up that it was heartbreaking to watch her.....she died from the effects of getting high and drunk and falling off of a porch. She spent about 2 weeks in ICU and suffered a couple of strokes due to the abrupt withdrawal of alcohol. She was an alcoholic and addicted to soft drugs.
God allowed me to spend the last 2 years of her life looking after her and learning to love her and let go and forgive and I remember telling God one day on my way home from the care home my mom was in that I loved her and now he was going to take her home and that I would miss her so much.
God's grace is amazing in action, when you see it at work in everything surrounding your situation. My mother's heart was turned back to God in those last years and when she could I would take her to church and the songs would come back to her and she would sing...we would sing songs together at her care home...Victory in Jesus...In the Garden...The Old Rugged Cross....When God took her home, I knew I would see her again and on that day, she would be whole. I was honored to give her eulogy....
Please pray for me and my sisters and my brother, my oldest sister has a hard heart towards our Father
