I'm so glad you came here, there's nothing better then when somebody personally seeks their father, the creator of them and the universe. Please don't get a bad image of God because of your earthly father, our heavenly father loves us unconditionally, he's a good God. Proof is that he sent a part of himself to die for YOU. His children.
I recomend reading the bible when you're bored, or just hanging out here so you can get to know him better. Gods messengers, or 'prophets' performed miracles to show they're legit, they prophesied the future! Everything has been acurate thus far (from real prophets, anyway - don't get me started on islam...). No man can predict future events, that's how I know these messeges were from a devine being.
Another way to see God's work, just look out the window! Look up at the stars at night... I don't believe things just come from nothing. Something has to put it there. Some science freaks believe people, birds and trees all come from dust. To me that takes more faith to believe in than believing it was intelligently designed from the intelligent designer.
One thing is for sure, most of us here believe we are all sinners... As much as we try, we give into temptation and sin. That makes us unclean in God's eyes, however in Jesus Christ we are saved. See, before Christ came down from heaven, the old covenent or 'agreement' with him and his people has always been a blood sacrifice. The israelites (his chosen people) used to sacrifice animals to God to cleanse themselves of this sin, so they can be right with God. Under the new covenent however, we no longer have to do that. We don't have to do anything! God has made a way for us, all we have to do is believe it and have that in the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross for us, we are saved.
I could talk all night about how awesome God is haha.
