I just joined this forum. My name is Jeff. I have asked Jesus to come into my life several times in the last 4 years, struggling with alcohol problems for most of my life. This time I have been sober for 5.5 months.
My faith has never grown enough for me to really believe in the Bible and that it is ALL TRUE. I have been GUIDED by MANY Christians and read devotionals, the Bible, go to meetings, a Church group along with Church service weekly.
I recently had something that has REALLY set my weak Faith backwards and I NEED HELP!!!! I WANT TO BELIEVE 100% like my sister and neice.
My DAD has had a VERY BAD cough for 2 years, the Dr. has NEVER addressed it. IT WAS COPD. my POOR DAD has lost 50 pounds and has gone through a MILLION tests to figure out WHY he is loosing SO MUCH weight. He WAS 83 years old. He HAD diabetes that HE controlled VERY well, he also had VERY low blood platelet count. He could hardly eat much because it would cause him to GASP for air and he would COUGH for a hour after eating. He was getting VERY VERY WEAK! ANYWAY, on tuesday March 23, 2010 he was eating a steak that caused him to cough SO BAD that he STOPPED breathing, 911 was called. He went to the Hospital and was FINE. He was kept overnight for the usual things. The next day I went in to speak with his DR. My mother was there, FINALLY after talking and explaining to his Dr. what HE WAS going through, things were for THE FIRST TIME going GREAT for my POOR DAD. He was going to get oxygen for occasional use at home, just now-and-then when he wanted it. The Dr. decided to keep hin at the hospital for more tests and to get his cough to a reasonable level. So he stayed there from tuesday 3-23. From that day until tuesday 3-30 he was doing AWESOME!!!My dad was eating MORE then he has in YEARS, almost NO COUGHING, TONS of energy, feeling GREAT!!! Having SO MANY plans to go home and ENJOY A QUALITY life for at least a little while. On tuesday 3-30-2010 he was getting ready to GO HOME, feeling AWESOME. By the way, HIS WEIGHT LOSS was from COUGHING 4-7000 times a day!!!!!!! At 10:30an 3-30-2010 he slipped when going to the bathroom and split his head open causing a MAJOR HEMATOMA, he was in SEVERE PAIN and aware of it for about 2 minutes. He was operated on 9 hours later, he made it through surgery, he then was unconcious until his death on thursday 4-1-2010 at 8:45am. We were there most of the time while the nurses and doctors tried everything to get him out of his unconciousness. We had some hope and it seamed like he might pull out of it. But on wed 3-29 infection set-in and basically took over.
WHY would a man like my DAD go through HELL for 2 years, COUGHING almost constantly, having a VERY hard time eating and enjoying ANY part of it, go to the hospital to FINALLY GET WHAT HE NEEDED, feeling GREAT, eating GREAT, with TONS of energy, and the HAVE THIS HAPPEN.
My FAITH was building better day by day, but I was having trouble believing 100% that what is printed in the Bible is REALLY TRUE.
After I have seen what my DAD has gone through in the past 2 years, and having NEW GREAT HOPE to go home and ENJOY a really QUALITY life for at least a little while. NOW I REALLY ASK WHATS GOING ON????
HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED???I want to grow in FAITH and BLEIEVE 100% like my sister. I REALLY want to believe that I WILL BE WITH MY DAD ONCE AGAIN...
PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND or ACCEPT what has happened is for the BEST, and my POOR DAD is REALLY IN HEAVEN..
