I Need A Prayer

i know it sounds stupid, but i cannot stop swearing
i've had a few mods PM me about
also people in the shoutbox have told me to stop.
i dont realise im doing it!
i've tried stopping but it just doesnt happen!
it just slips out!
i know it may be a waste of time because there's people with far worse problems than me but...=/

Sweetie,

I've just solved this problem myself. First I began to count how often I did it, particularly when I was annoyed and swearing at the cat for waking me at 3am for food. If you wish, tape record yourself for the day. Either way you'll realise how disgusting it sounds! I was ashamed at how often I used the F word.

For the next week do not allow yourself to speak without planning first. This way you can start learning to not use them.

Replace words with darn, frigging, flipping, parc (backwards).

Final stage, where I am, is to start using words like stupid, rotten, terrible, really (instead of f'ing).

I swore almost constantly and I've made progress... so will you. Will pray for you.

i honestly didn't realise was doing it until i started posting on these forums lol,
i said bleeding hell this morning and somebody considered that a swear word.
i guess its a nation thing really, what is acceptable by the uk may not be ok in the us, i'm in the uk and our language is built off swear words basically, but we dont consider them swearing, such as bloody, or bugger, everyone says them!

Ask the Holy Spirit to put a guard on your mouth and remind you everytime you speak something that doesn't please him.

Also, I'll mention my experience. The Lord led me to spend time with a person that was in the world and minister to them. That person used cuss words a lot. I found those words began to constantly pop in my mind. Our minds are like little computers. What we hear, what we have come into the habit of doing, etc. comes out.

Father, break the habits that contribute to this problem.

About walking in the spirit. The Lord has led me to tell people to get up in the morning and ask HIM to lead them through the day. Read the word, even if it is just one verse giving the Lord a chance to speak into your day with the word. You will start building a walk and strengh, (habits) in another direction.

You will be surprised how HE will use this little bit of effort to work in your life and build your faith. It is amazing!!!!!!!!!

I love it. Walking and being led by him is becoming a necessity. We are coming into a time where we need that safety. Some did not go to the World Trade Center for work, or were late on Sept 11. They have their lives because of it.

God is awesome when we walk with him.
