Everybody is good at something. Not everyone has to have an artistic hobby to feel like they enjoy life. Maybe you're good at being a good listener, or maybe you enjoy children, or maybe you love animals, or you are a good reader, or you can keep a clean house, or you can fix your hair really nice. Or something. Think about it, you are good at something:)

But if you really want to find a handcraft there are hundreds you could try.

Beading
cross-stitch
latch-hook rugs (that's an easy one to try, BTW)
modelling clay creations
painting and decorating flower pots
flower arrangements
make some potpourri
candle making
soap making ( I think this is a fun one myself )
start a collection of something and go rummage sale shopping to add to your collection

Best way to find a hobby is to think about things you'd enjoy doing whether you were around people or not. Sketching is my most favorite hobby because I get to express myself through pictures, plus when I'm angry about something, I can take all of that energy and throw it into a painting or drawing until I am calm again. But that's for me.

Think about the things you like to do then head to the library and read more about your possible interest. Another good way to pick up a new hobby is to look at things that you've thought about doing before. I have a friend who knits that would've never thought about knitting before. She just read a bit more about it and after a few months now, she's part of a small group of guys and gals who get together and knit on Wednesday nights (I think it's Wednesdays). But she fell in love with knitting.

Good luck with the hobby search. Hope you find something that you enjoy. Moreso I dare pray that you find a hobby that can be used to help people get to know the Lord. Be Blessed.

I love scrapbooking. It is a wonderful hobby. I am working on a "Heritage Album" in which I honor family members, especially my grandparents and their brothers and sisters (all of whom I got to know as a child). Then of course I work on pages about my wedding and trips I have taken. I do "swaps" with others on line. For example, I just finished doing a "swap" in which I made 6 page kits that each had a journalling block, a title block, a photo mat and I made a paperpiecing of a campfire (the theme of that swap was "camping" or being outdoors.)

I spend hours and hours lost in my own creative world and when I am done I have trasured memories that I can pass on someday the another generation.

Since you posted this under art/handicraft, I'm assuming you're looking for something fun & easy? (Not cooking, gardening, reading, etc??). I'm NOT an artistic or "handicraft"-type expert, but just started buying things that looked easy and something I would FINISH. (Key word-FINISH). So, needlepoint was out automatically. LOL! I went back to some of the things I really enjoyed doing as a little girl. For instance:

I bought a pretty scrape foil kit the other day at a craft store (where you just scrape away a black 8x10 to reveal a silver or copper metal picture or scene underneath). It's EASY, as they have the picture outlined in grey on the black, so you know where to scrape. It's such a stress-reliever! I framed my picture, which was a waterfall and rocks. If you can't find one in a store, you can search online for a scrape foil kit.

I also don't know how to knit or crochet. However, I remembered once using a wooden board when I was about 11 or 12 years old to make a scarf in one week! It's a long, rectangular board with the middle cut out & nails that you just wrap the yarn back and forth in two layers. You just take the needle and pull the bottom layer over the top layer & it forms layers that fall in the hole in the middle of the board. EASY, EASY, EASY! I knitted six scarves last year, in time for Christmas gifts to little ones in my family! It made me feel so proud that I sorta "knitted" - even if it wasn't the "hard way". ;)

These are just two ideas. Find something that looks like FUN. Best wishes!

What have you been enjoying the most doing in the last 7 days? You may find your own answer from the things you do. Then, just turn that into a hobby.

That is a brillant suggestion! I find myself in the same position as the original poster... and your suggestion has given me great ideas! Thanks.
