I must take a Message Board break..I am addicted!

Gel, I also spend a lot of time on this messege board. There for a short while it was taking place of other things I should be doing but I have found an even balance now so it all works out fine. This is the only messege board I have really liked. I have tried others in the past but found myself very board with them. I have learned a lot this last month or so on this board and many topics have been discussed which have actually led me to study deeper in God's Word, just to make sure that I had the correct meaning of a passage.

Last year, I took about a week and spent it communing with the Lord. I stayed off the computer, I only listened to praise music, I didn't watch any TV and I didn't even talk to friends on the phone, I just used that week to read the Bible, sing to the Lord and pray. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to everyone. We all need to take time out now and then and put the "have to's" of life aside, so that we can grow in the Lord (also, I let most of my housework go for that week also which was a very big deal for me but in a way it was a sacrafice of my wants, to God). I put aside the daily grind to spend time with just my God, what a difference it made!

I think it is easy to become addicted to any M/B, and a break is allways good for people .

Yes, message boards are very addictive! I have one main one I go to plus a few others if I get time. I don't read the Bible near as much as I should and I just bought a new study Bible today. Between work, dealing with the spouse, and computering (not to mention that I love to read fiction books) very little time seems to be left for Bible reading. My marriage causes a lot of stress which doesn't help either. So, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I just feeling like screaming out to God with the way I've been feeling!

I agree, these can become addictive, with me esspecially when I am trying to prove a point.

Anyway, I hope your time in the wilderness is blessed. Check out 1 Kings 19:12, many Hebrew scholars translate that passage, and the word "still" which also means silence, to mean that God's voice was not only in the silence it WAS the silence. Anyway something cool to meditate on.
