• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Congratulations on accepting Christ, and welcome to the boards!

All single people struggle with this at one point or another, especially us guys. I've been saved since 1998, and it's only in recent weeks that I've made a concerted effort to stop.

A person in the military doesn't go from being a Corporal to being a four-star General overnight. It takes time, patience and discipline. Same with our walk with God. He doesn't expect you to have the spiritual maturity of Billy Graham immediately after reciting the Sinner's Prayer. Ask Him to guide and change you for the better, and remember that "He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" if we confess them to Him when we stumble.

You're doing a good thing. Get help from a local church. Find a support team and try to replace the bad habit with a good habit like volunteering. You need support their are mens groups and celebrate recovery groups that help. Christ helped me conquer a sex addiction so He will do it for you, Scottie

I had a many year addiction to pornography and all I can say is pray and pray hard. My excess masturbation stopped when I was able to put the Pornography on the curb and follow God even more. I am lucky in that aspect, but everything takes time and lots of prayer. Pray on it and focus on growing in your relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
