but I also think the Catholics, Calvinists, Baptists, Lutherans, Orthodox, Presbyterians, and Methodists are wrong on some theology. I am pretty sure I'm wrong on some theology, although I haven't figured out which parts yet.
The issue, I think, is that if we move to a simpler Creed, such as the Apostle's Creed, the JW's and Mormons can be called "Christians", and many people consider them cults. Me, I don't really care.
It is not really about rejecting the creed, but in this instance not understanding what the details of the creed are, or in other words, what the various beliefs included in the creed mean.

I don't much care. I'd rather talk with people and have discussions with 'em than kick 'em out.
(Disclaimer: My church has no doctrine at all, so I'm obviously biased towards a fairly mellow approach.)

That said... The current policy is that we say "Nicene Creed", but obviously, we don't really enforce it; most of the users have never even read it.

seebs said:What mostly bothers me is simply that, in fact, we have more people who go to mainstream denominations, but do not accept the Creed, than we have ever had Mormons or JWs. I don't like a policy which isn't really what it says it is.

Hey, how come there are now 2 different formats for quotes?
Posts #29 and #30 both have quotes, but #29 has a square around the quotes like I've seen in some other forums, but #30 has the bubble I usually see on CF.
Do they look different to everybody?
Hey! How cool!Warren Peace said:I was born Jewish. I've been a Christian for three and a half years now. I understood even less of the Trinity when I confessed my sins and accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour than you do. How did I do it? By faith, and the hunger to know more.
Thank you for the kind compliment.mesue said:Hey! How cool!
I have heard Jews that convert to Christianity called Completed Jews. I think that would be the utmost coolest title to have, to be completed in Christ. What a blessing.
