The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I wanted to encourage you that even though you may feel isolated in your sin, your not alone. 1 cor 10:13 tells us that all temptation is common and God is faithful to who will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can take. I have found many times that I would rather just cut it off also. But that wont fix anything but the external effect of an internal problem. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that We are to hold captive every thought to Christ. Its part of our obedience. Also pray that God would help you to hate the sin that you love. Lately in my prayers I specifically mention those things that are evil that I sin with in my mind and ask God to make me see the sin as he does and to make me hate it as he does. Brother take control of your Mind, God has given you everything you need to fight this battle, The Holy Spirit, Prayer and the Bible, dont go it alone walk in his strength
. Also find someone you can confide in and get accountability. Remember cutting it off wont deal with the internal problem
