  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ya'll, I just realized something. Today is December 8,2010. It is 22 days away from my birthday. I'm getting old, ya'll. I'm getting old. I will soon be 27. I don't want to get old, ya'll. By the time Shadrach turns 25, I will be 50. When he is 13, I will be 39. Getting old is almost depressing when you start looking at it in that light. Before you know it, I will be wearing dentures, walking with a cane, wearing diapers and peeking up over the steering wheel when I drive. I will have gray hair, ya'll. I don't want to get old. Getting old means that at some point, I will die. I don't want to do that. That is scary.

Heh, I hear ya.

It seems like time is going by too fast too, which makes it worse. One thing I've noticed is that constant routine speeds up life. When you live each day struggling to get to the weekend as fast as possible... well, there are only 52 weekends in a year. When you just "get through the day", you're just speeding up life for yourself. So I've been working on this for myself: breaking away from tradition and living each day instead of just getting through it. Appreciating every moment, whether bad or good.

There is a lot we take for granted in every day life. If you take the time to stop and think about them, that is a step in the right direction to extending your days.

You are dying. Accept it, and you may find the grace to live.

We seek to build monuments with our lives that will last thousands of years, but our lives themselves only last a few decades, or perhaps a century at most.

Focus on the only ideals which matter: Advancing the collective of human glory. Your contributions to society through family and/or career constitute the sum of the legacy which you will leave behind. If you leave behind a legacy of honor and greatness, then through your work and successive generations, you will gain immortality.

The people who really matter don't fade away in memory when absent. They are remembered more strongly and fondly with each passing year.
