• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I don't know the circumstances, but you can PM me if you would like to discuss it more. Since I do not know your age, I will assume you are of age majority. You can look at various training programs in your State through the State Employment Service, and some Federal programs. Some hospitals will help one with training if they will commit to working for them. My granddaughter found that in a nursing program. Put the Lord first in your life, and all things will be added unto you, God says.

Lots of people go to school and work at the same time. It is a little easyer to work during the day and go to evening school. They usually take into consideration that your working and give you less homework. Sometimes if your working it can take up to three years to accomplish what you could do in a year if you were not working. Anyways, your exactly right in that you need to go to school for 2 years to get an associate degree to find a job in a lot of places where jobs can be a bit difficult to find.

the best advice I can give you- A Dale Carnegie quote " when life gives you lemons make lemonade".
Times of joblessness and general lost times are great times for reflection, soul searching and planning. Ask God to direct your paths. Study if you can for future employment because crappy times don't last forever.

psalm 23
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
It doesn't say anything in palm 23 about staying in the valley of the shadow of death.
it is temporary and scary while you are in it. Bad times build character. Character builds steadfastness. Steadfastness and character are mighty useful for life in general.

What you will pass through now will serve you well for many years to come.
Do not worry
Romans 8:23

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Psalm 121

A song of ascents. 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

It will be ok. even if not in the near future but try to trust it will.

I tried that, but it turned out sour. Then I found out you have to heat the sugar in some water and turn it into a syrup to make lemonade. So going through the fire is still a part of the formula.
Think of another thought. Gods own son was beaten and whipped to the bone, hung on a cross and given the most disgraceful death any man could have in his time. Who are we to God that we should live a life better than his only son? If you have anything even slightly better than the life he gave his only son than anybody who does is living in a blessing. He drank wine from goat skins.. Yuk.

I am trying to cheer you up because a positive attitude is much more likely to gain employment.
