I just joined AARP!!

Wow!  To think, I missed out on 5 good years of membership in AARP!

I was under the mistaken idea that ya had to be 55 to join.  But I just learned that membership can start at age 50.

I once got a letter inviting me to join AARP. Had a card with my name on it and everything.
I thought about it, but I was 19 at the time.

Uh, yeah.  No foresight then. 

I'm only 3 1/2 years away from a senior discount at the local restaurant and free checking at the bank.  Can't wait.  Hooray.

It's like WKRP but it isn't in Cincinnati. 

I believe it gets you senior citizen discounts at various restaurants and stores and other fine fine products.

55 isn't such a bad age. I retired last August, at 54. Now for the life of me, I can't seem to understand now, where I found time to hold a regular job.

Hey Sharky,

AARP is the association of retired persons.  It's the old boys' and old girls' club (LOL)


The reason I joined was so I could get a discount on AOL membership.  Durn, durn, durn.  I just found out that I can get a neat discount for MONTHLY payments, but not on yearly payments.  And I like to pay for AOL yearly.  Oh, well.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what other senior discounts I can get by using my AARP card.

Got it, Lbiagm!!  And, yep, I'm in.  Now I'm just waiting for my fridge to get here.  They supply fridges here but they're those teensy 4 cubic footers.  Yoiks!  Can't even freeze a loaf of bread in it.

The place is teensy - a studio apartment.  But, that's what I had hoped to live in for years.  I don't need a lot of space.  And, they have a pool and lots of other amenities.  So, living here will be fun.
