No offence, but if you belong to any particular faith, you may not be the most appropriate person to answer inqueries about otrher faiths. I would reccomend that if any person has any questions about a particular religeon that they go straight to the horse's mouth, ask a knowledgeable member of that church, preferably a minister.

I agree with that to a point. There are a lot of scholars out there who have done extensive research (and have degrees in) other religions. Having said that though, I don't feel comfortable with people in other religions trying to tell people what my church believes. I also being an ex-Baptist wouldn't trust myself to give a completely accurate view of Baptist beliefs. Not that I'd be dishonest but first I haven't attended a Baptist church since 1995 and I wouldn't know what they teach now as opposed to then or even if my Baptist church differed from another. I know there's Free Will Baptist, Southern Baptist, just like there's something like 60+ churches that claim Joseph Smith as a prophet of their church. Also I obvioulsy left the church so perhaps my memories of what I was taught has been tainted through the years. Just as ex-mormons often base their ideas of our beliefs on misconceptions, anger, anti-mormon literature, and other things that could be inaccurate. It's not that they're blatantly lying but that all the information may not be correct.

So in a long and rambling way I agree with MikeK. WOW I really am long winded aren't I?

I am an ex mormon CZ. I have refused to read anything about mormonism either for or against. I have no anger, and certainly no misconceptions. In fact, I found most mormon church folk to be friendly, loving, kind and funloving.

But, I was really conned into joining the church by missionaries we couldn't get rid of.Then, my little family was conned into it. The missionaries, (and I was told this BY a missionary) have to get a number of people into the church.
So, I am very, very sceptical about listening to ANY religions now. I let the Holy Spirit guide me INTO ALL TRUTHS. And...He's never led me back to the mormon church!
I'm much older and wiser now.
