• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have an idea, what do you think.

I have noticed that other foums, such as the Catholic and Anglican forums are on "Quests for the Holy Grail" in the armory. Apparently what they do is, they elected a person to keep the blessings and they all donate blessings to that person and when they get 1,000,000 blessings they will buy the Holy Grail and it will be displayed in the person that is keeping the blessings posts. I think that we could do the same thing, except with the 10 commandments. What do you think? We could vote on who we trust to save the blessings and everything.

I don't know what would be valued to this forum - the Baptist might bite on the big ten. But we all like the Word of God in this forum, and most have our own Bible. If we had a WOF marker or Charismatic marker for the group it would be nice. But the 'quest for the Holy Grail' is a hoot, I hope they are having fun with it.

Why the ten commandments? Why not the cross?
Or has the cross been milked of all it's symbolism already? We add to it, ornate it, twist it, colour it, outline it, put a tulip on it, the orthodox have an extra piece on it, the catholics have expanded it, the pentecostals have a dove on it.
Etc etc.

I may be too cynical, but why do we have this need of facelifting even our posts and internet personas? "Blessing" each other through mouse clicks, buying "armour of God" as if they were car parts.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Came out about 30 years ago, or so.

I was thinking about the oil because that's what Mary anointed Christ's feet with, and isn't that our purpose, to annoint the Christ with worship and love?

Judging by your signature, this is quite a pet peeve of yours. I can see your point, but don't think it's such a major deal. I don't think anyone really thinks they're buying anything real.

Wow! I bet you call yourself a realist. I try to be an optimist.
