This may not be the right place to ask this...but I was wondering if there was a setting where I could prevent people from feeding/playing with Firebrand

Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As far as I know you cannot prevent people to feed or play with your pets.
I think allowing other people to feed and play with your pet is a fantastic idea, its save them from dying and starvation.

I'm getting annoyed with people constantly feeding my pets...and if there's any way possible, would like to prevent them from doing so. I have no problem with the concept in general...

I thinks it generus of others feeding pets. Why get annoyed with it? Its save you some blessings?

Pressing toward the mark
You can turn off the notifications that you get when people feed your pet, but their is no option to prevent people from feeding them. You can also ask the pet rescuers to remove your pet from pet rounds. I don't know if his name is there. People who read your posts will still be able to feed and play with your pet, but if you disable the notifications you won't get any PMs about it.

Well, you know how you place your mouse over someone's avatar or character and it says something? You could make it say something like "Please do not feed my pet."
Of course, some people would feed him just because it says that...idk.

I am just a bit curious as to why you would not want someone out of the good ness of there hearts and the christian in us not to feed your pet and do nice things for you?

I don't mind people feeding or playing with my pet, and it is nice of people to do so, but sometimes you just don't want you r inbox full of PMs saying "I fed you pet" or "I played with your pet." Some times people will play with your pet or feed your pet when they are fine, and that is annoying.

i must be missing the point why that would be annoying? you can turn off the notifications,,,right, so you would never know and if it makes someone else happy isn;t that what it should be about?

I have reasons that are difficult to explain. Firebrand is a writer's inspiration, and people feeding and playing with with the pet is messing with it. Besides...I bought Firebrand so that I could take care of her myself. It kinda defeats the purpose when everybody else is taking care of her. I aprreciate the thought...but not the action.

"Firebrand" is getting hungry! I can see why you have a problem with people feeding her. Sometimes I get busy with work and stuff and can't get on for a couple days and wish someone would pop Frogger a chicken.

May i ask why you would want to own a pet and allow it to get to 100% HUNGER?
yes it is your business but there are some of us here that have feeling for these cyberpets,although not real, do not want to see anything suffer.......so with all do respect why have a pet if you are unwilling to care for it?
