---------------------------------X141:
Explain in three sentences or less, Why it is,
"Because I go unto the Father"? (John 14:12)
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that believeth on me,
the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.
Hi there 'X141',
Our Lord Jesus Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father (Eph. 1:20). The 'right hand' (typifying the actions performed by it) - the right hand of God is a position of power - the highest power, and the most Divine authority.
After our Lord had ascended to present Himself to the Father as the 'Firstfruit' (John 20:17). He returned to minister further to the disciples during the 40 days before He finally ascended into Heaven, it was then that He could say, in Matt. 28:18
'And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."
PRAISE GOD!
* The wonderful thing is that we are told in Ephesians 2:6, that 'in God's sight', we have been raised with Him and are seated with Him at God's right hand, now awaiting His appearing in glory, when we too shall appear with Him there. (Col. 3:4)
'If ye then be risen with Christ,
seek those things which are above,
where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear,
then shall ye also appear with him in glory.'
(Col.3:1-4)
In Christ Jesus
Our risen and glorified
Saviour, Lord and Head.
