Bring the problem to Him. Don't pray about it in a long-winded manner because that'll make it worse, and you aren't really giving it to Him when you do that. Just bring the problem to Him, trust Him, and then forget about it/distract yourself and forgive yourself. When you ask for forgiveness and trust that He forgives you, you don't have to wonder about it anymore. God works out for us the things we can't work out for ourselves.

This is true OP. And it was said with love.

How do you turn a problem over to God? I feel like banging my head against a brick hall, figuratively. How do I overcome double mindedness and how do I ask God to forgive me and to turn everything over to the Lord?

One must first be sure they know God. Jesus said: "no man comes to the Father, but by Me". If one is devoted to God's beloved Son, he will enjoy communion with God and can rest fully on God's "exceeding great and precious promises." Reading the Word of God daily will help one know God and His mind and ways ---note John 1; John 3; John 14!

1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." It is that easy, a lot of times we like to make it more complicated but God is a Father of simplicity. How do you ask God for forgiveness? Just tell God your sorry and ask God to forgive you in the name of Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is our Father and it makes it easier when we see Him that way.

Hi Lik3, sometimes we need to accept Yahweh's forgiveness. When I ask Him to forgive me and I keep thinking about my sin and all the stuff that goes with that, I'm making my sin bigger than His forgiveness. But Scripture says He forgives and forgets (I John 1:9 and Rom 10:9-10). How awesome is that! Because Yahweh is awesome!

We're to take every thought captive (II Cor 10:5) and renew our minds with His Word (Rom 12:2). So when that first thought comes that needs to be eliminated, immediately stop it and replace it with what Scripture says.

We can do this because we're overcomers (Rom 6:37). We can do all things from Yeshua who strengthens us (Phil 4:13). Like someone posted the other day, there's nothing in Scripture for us to do that we can't do with His help.

About 10 years ago, I was worried about my parent's flight to come and visit me. So, I fasted and prayed that day and every time I got a hint of worry come up, I would pray again. Then the most incredible thing happened.

I heard a voice of authority say inside my head, "You don't have to keep asking. Just believe. It will be done for you".

I felt like I'd been lovingly admonished while I was also blown away that I heard God. I'll never forget that. It was like a thought that I didn't think.

Of course, if you know your scripture, Jesus told us this.

Matt 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

John 14: 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
