  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Im really sad about this... I pray constantly every day all the time. I always ask God to forgive me for my sins and to guide me so I wont do these things again but every time without fail I do this stuff... I curse constantly, its not even like I mean it, its just part of my vocabulary and I say stuff I dont even really mean. I say bad stuff to my family members, stuff I really dont mean but I do it anyway. I think about it later and feel bad and say to myself, "i wont do this again". And the next day the same thing happens to me. Im always insulting people and cursing. I cant say that I do much other than this... Although I do fight a lot with my brother. I pray every day so that I can stop this but it just hasn't been working..

The good news is that we have already been forgiven, once for all.

For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit;
(1Pe 3:18)

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.
(Eph 4:32)

Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey; whether it is of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness. But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Then being made free from sin, you became the slaves of righteousness.
(Rom 6:16-18)

I know we are taught that some sin's are worse than others, but all sin is sin before God.

But now a righteousness of God has been revealed apart from Law, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets; even the righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ, toward all and upon all those who believe. For there is no difference, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;
(Rom 3:21-24)

The good news is we are justified through Christ.

Try to focus less on the sin, and more on our beloved Father. When the perfect comes, the imperfect disappears. His glorious presence will fill you up, giving you no room to sin. As soon as we focus on other thigns we loose sight of Him. God will lead your path.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
(Mat 5:14-16)

Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
(Joh 8:12)

I have had this frustration before as well.
Just recently I have recognized the change He has instilled in me.
It comes from spending time in His word, worshiping Him always, Praying always, and gathering togeather with other Christians to lift eachother up. This is not an all of a sudden thing. It is a process. Slowly day by day, your will is changed from the world to God. For me, I do not have nearly as much interest in videogames, TV, lustful acts... cussing I was released from a while ago... I still have a longing to see movies which will go in time and eventually I will just stay in His presence all the time. (be it on Earth or in Heaven)

The beautiful thing is that we're saved by grace. As believers, we have been forgiven of sin and the guilt of sin. One of the fruits of the spirit is temperance, some bibles say self-control. The enemy knows the very thing that afflicts you: anger. Anger leads to cursing and you should continue to ask God to fill you with His spirit, so you don't lend foothold to the enemy. When you curse, remember you defile your temple and we are not our own, you belong to the Master, our heavenly Father. Ask God to constantly guard the doorpost of your lips, so that your lips will utter praise when He has taught you His statutes. Read Pslam 119:171 God bless you always

Just continue to trust in the Lord and rely on Him. I learned that the long way. The key is just trust and faith. Continue to ask the Lord to help you. He definitely will and is! It may take some time to be completely over what you're dealing with, but no one is perfect. Just keep on trusting in Him, he loves you and is right there ready to help!

You control your cursing right now. I can pretty much guarantee that you don't curse teachers out, that if a cop stops you that you do not curse at him/her. If you pick up a girl for a date, you do not curse at her parents, or at her. You have the ability to control your tongue. You choose not to do so a good deal of the time.

Try this trick. Get a heavy rubber band and put it on your wrist. When you say anything you are trying to stop, or think of saying something, even if you stop yourself, pull back the rubber band and let it hit you on the inside of your wrist. If it doesn't hurt, you need a thicker rubber band or you need to oull it back further. Do this each and every time. YOur brain wil begin to associate the pain with the words and your brain will want to avoid the pain. It really can help. People who have used this technique have found it very helpful in stopping smoking which is a very addictive behavior.

heh. That's a good idea if that is what you need! like giving yourself the spanking without the humilliation. though sometimes pain is not enough for some people and the humilliation is what they need... I still say to stay in God's presence as much as you can and because you do so, the impurities just naturally fall away. Try the rubber band thing too because that could get people to ask you why you have it and you could tell them and be a testimony to them.
