CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you have spiders there is a good chance you don't have cockroaches. Spiders eat other insects that spread disease. So while they are really icky, they are actually good for something.

We have six acres with three totally woods. I have seen spiders as big as half dollars. They are everywhere. Different sizes, shapes and colors. Really icky. What do spiders eat primarily?

My husband says we have "dust spiders" -- he says they eat dust (???). I wonder if he says that just to make me relax when I see them. Because I'll make him come running to kill them. He hates to kill bugs. He'll take them outside.

I love to kill spiders. We had a problem all summer with bees and I was the one who had to deal with them because my husband is so terrified of them. Me, I hate, hate, hate spiders. I hate any bug even though I know that they have their place. We have bugs, racoons, lizards, coyotes, snakes, deer but I cannot handle spiders. ICK! ICK! i dont like them either, the way they move the way they drop to the floor when under threat so you cant get them as they hide behind furniture, crawl along the ceiling until theyre big and brave enough to come down, jumping spiders are the worst theyre just evil YUCKYUCK YUCK !
but as others have said in this thread they do eat other insects which i cant stand either and my father once showed me a very old spider dying which kind of gave me some humanity towards them for about five minutes

Guys, guys. Spiders are so cool! They pretty much mind their own business, unlike those pesky insects that hunt you down and suck your blood or sting you or sit on your food. And they eat those pesky bugs!
I used to let a large brown spider live in my window between the panes of glass and believe me, she kept the mosquitoes out of my apartment just fine! It was neat to watch her work her stuff over those bugs.
I think they're pretty amazing. Especially the cute little fuzzy jumping ones with the eight eyes. Very cool.

Yeah one nite there must have been a spider sleeping with me, because when i woke up i had atleas 30 bites around my pelvis and up my stomach and chest and around onto my butt. It was nasty, i absolutely despise spiders, if i see one i have my little sister come and kill it lol.

I have a phobia about them, if I see one in my room, I won't sleep in my room that night. I prefer the ones that build webs and stay away from people, but the ones that wander, they scare me, especially the small ones, because they could be on you right now. >.< *checks his shirt as he twitches* I can handle any bug, but I can't handle a spider! *continues to eat ice cream and stay depressed*

I understand what you're saying. My husband always takes bugs outside. Not roaches though. But when I have 50 ants in my kitchen I can't carry them all outside...Mimi said:
