I give up for the nth time trying to go to an 11 o'clock Mass

I had been mentally preparing all week to go to the 11 o'clock Mass this coming weekend because of a Corpus Christi Procession but by the looks of it, it might not be happening. I'm utterly dismayed. No one did this to me, I did this to myself. :sigh: Praying for a miracle but miracles are exceptionally rare.

11 AM mass? Well, set your alarm for 9:00 AM or before, get ready, hop in the car (bike or bus, or however you travel) and go to the mass my friend. Remember, masses are only an hour or so long (maybe 45-90 minutes). Yes, miracles are rare, but going to mass is exceptionally common for some folks, and occurs approximately once every 7 days.

But, I will pray for you.

I don't want to say too much about my sleeping patterns but they're bad enough such that I can't wake up that way. :|

This might be something that a conversation with a doctor could help. For me, I try to go to bed by 22:30 (10:30 PM), and wake up by 7:00 AM on weekdays, and sleep from 23:30 (11:30 PM) to 8:00 AM on weekends.

Hey, are you planning on going to mass today? It is 9:12 AM in my timezone.

I go to the Saturday 4 pm mass. I have a lot of sleep problems too.
So do I, typically, but tomorrow is the Corpus Christ Procession and I kind of wanted to go. I think from now on, unless I acclimate to a normal sleeping pattern, I'll stick with the Saturday Vigil Masses. I still may not be able to go tomorrow morning though.

I'm so sorry for your struggle, Lady Bug. I understand the pain of sleep problems, and I know many people who live with sleep disorders that can't be treated. I have one myself, and I work evening shift because my body tolerates it better than day shift. Unfortunately, I have to work Saturdays to stay on this shift, so every Sunday morning is a struggle to get to the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass 14 miles away. It probably sounds silly to those without this problem, but it often does take a heroic effort to get to church when in a chronic state of exhaustion and pain. I only go if I think I am safe to drive. Be gentle with yourself. Sleep has a huge effect on quality of life. It is no small issue. Hugs.

'Sup sister. :) I know your struggles, and I used to not go to church that often, especially last year due to distraction from the television. You can do this. God can help you. We can help you here, if you need moral support to go to mass.

I hate feeling like I'm neglecting my dad to go to Mass. Especially when he wants to have a conversation with me exactly at the moment I want to prepare for sleep. Or if he's in a mood when I have to go out the door.

I'm going to try to go but I only had 3 hours sleep. I could not seem to fall back asleep but I also feel like garbage. I feel like the devil wins if I don't go. :(
When I can't go because of sleep or health issues, I watch it on EWTN.
