  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't know what to do anymore...

The first thing that comes to mind is that you didn't say whether or not the two of you had talked about what you know about his online activities. If you have had this conversation and his response is for you to get skinny and all will be good he is a man who has little regard for you. It's all about him.

If he cares for you he will show some concern for your feelings. What goes back and forth between the two of you when you talk about your feelings and needs?

Are you a Christian now? Do you have a local church you attend? A pastor of Christian friends?

I am asking because I want to know where you are at (spritually) and what kind of support you have available to you there.

I may differ from many pastors on this but I have always considered emotional abuse as an issue of abandonment by an unbeliever that would be addressed in 1 Cor 7. I am very much in favor of repentance and restoration, and always pray for that even after a divorce, but I do not believe we are required to stay in an abusive marriage.
