I cut the cheese...is a literal 'word for word' bible the best ?

I love word by word, line by line literal interpretation of the Word of God. I believe there is a great deal we can learn from it, but just as God is spirit I believe that we honor him much more by following the spirit of his law and not getting ourselves bound up on literal interpretation.

Number one what I interpret a scripture to mean might be a lot different than what you interpret it to mean. So who's right? That depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is (if you catch my drift).

Number two Pharisees and Sadducee and teachers of the law were worried about literal line by line meaning of everything. Jesus warned against becoming like them.
