There are a couple things that would be helpful. You must let him know that Yeshua and all of his first followers were fully Torah observant men. Tell him that Paul was a Pharisee who trained at the feet of Gamaliel. Let him know that all the first thousands of believers were Torah observant Jews and that many of the priests also became believers. It was only a small group under the control of Chiaphus who wanted Yeshua Killed.
Another thing that is really helpful is if you can show him through the Old Testament where Messiah was to come two times, once to pay for our sins, die and to be resurrected, and then to return later as the victoruous King over all the earth, then you will be able to reach into the fabric of his beliefs.
There are so many prophecies concerning Messiah. You see this is why it is important to understand that Yeshua was born on the first day of Sukkot, circumcised on the 8th day of Sukkot, was killed on Passover at the exact same hour that the lamb was killed in the temple, was raised on the feast of first fruits, and the spirit poured out on Shavuot. He was born in Biet Lechem, just as Micha 4 says, He was bruised and killed pierced for our sins and was counted among the dead and yet will live to see his followers Isaiah 53, he was crucified and called out from the cross "My God my God why have you forsaken me", which is the title to Psalm 22, which is a depiction of the Messiah crucified.
This mans life is framed in Tanahk. He must see that Yeshua was fortold in Tanahk and was obedient to Torah. How much more your testimony would be worth if you could tell him that you too are obedient to Torah as Messiah told you to be in Matt 5. But none the less, you have been given a wonderful oporitunity to share the Jewish Messiah with one of his own brothers. You have done a great job so far.
Here is link to personal file that may help. It is alist of scriptures fulfilled by Yeshua.
