  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is kind of gross/embarrassing, but I developed Irritable Bowel Syndrome this past summer for the first time, and since then I have not been able to eat normally without getting diahrea every day, unless I take medication prescribed by my doctor. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience, and if so, what helps you out? Has it gotten better/worse over time?

Well My wife has the same problem . She is better now. She and I have stopped eating any bread that has yeast or that has to rise. We eat peta bread and those things.
We also started to take enzymes which help your body work the way it ois supposed to.
If you want take a look at www.ecoquestintl.com/warrenarnold.com
and look at the enzyme diet, we would be happy to send a free sample to try. It will help you!!!!!
Stress is another problem that you need to try and stop.
Well I hope I can help. As Chistians we are to help our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I hope I can help You...

Later Warren

My mother has or had I.B.S off and on for years. She tried all sorts of theories, ranging from possible allergies to gluten, milk, oil and egg to theories about the yeast connection and theories about just having some bad virus in her guts.

To make order in all this: After years of going to docters who didn't know much or to Dr. Crook, or just following her own guesses, it was found (by a university-professor-doctor) that she was gluten intollerent, lactos intollerent, But as for the rest, it's a big bunch garbage. My mother is not allergic to egg nor oil, and Doctor Crook's yeast connexion does not apply to her (I could go on explaining, but if you haven't been exposed to his poison, won't bother) and as for the idea of a virus, all the tests don't show a thing and when they do, she is immediatly treated ... even docters don't know what to make of it.

Why am I telling you all this? Please do me one favor: don't go off on irrational unproven, unscientific theories. There are many people out there who would like to earn money off your problem if only they can succeed in convincing you that they have the solution to your problem. But these theories end up binding you in every way. So you might want to take into consideration different causes that I have listed or that others will be listing, but be extremely cynical and watching out, and don't trust any thing untill you've done the most update tests, maybe even twice, and do nothing more than tell the doctors the theories that you heared and ask the doctors what they really think. I am telling you all this because I've seen how my mother got all bound up in obsessions and suffered so much, and I don't want anybody to go through what she did.

stopped eating any bread that has yeast or that has to rise
That wouldn't cause diahrea, the yeast gets killed when it gets baked. Peta bread is full of dead yeast too.

Hello,

I have had IBS since I was 14 years old, however! I have tried all medications and to no avail I started on a LOW FAT NO DAIRY diet recently A good healthy eating regime is the best cure (and prayer) for IBS here was a typical days food for me: -

Breakfast Bar (rather than cereal and milk)
Grapes

Snack
Dried Fruit or Tin of tuna

Lunch
Dry Pasta with vegetables i.e. sweetcorn and tuna (without mayo) or chicken!

Snack
Chicken sandwich on brown bread (no butter)

Dinner
Any low calorie meal (not rich in sauces)

If you look on the internet under gall bladder diet or low fat no dairy it will list foods that you should stay away from i.e.

Tomatoes
Anything with Milk i.e. choclate
Red meat/s etc

but you can feel free to eat fresh chicken sandwiches :) honestly bread is not a problem as long as you eat it in moderaton.

I've been diagnosed with IBS, but I'm at the other end (no pun intended) of the spectrum (no pun there, either ;) ). I have it where nothing happens. I'm bumping this thread as I've been re-researching alternative diets that can help.

Last summer, I went on the low-carb craze. It was wonderful! Everything was running the way things should be. :D People think you're crazy for being so excited over something as this, but they have no idea the kind of pain I was in.

I had someone mention to me, on another forum, that I could be gluten/wheat intollerant because the moment I start eating grains, I start having problems. The past two weeks I've been doing the "low-fat" which includes a lot of whole grains. Right now, I'm in a lot of pain. My stomach is in a huge knot. I'm bloated beyond PMS ;) and zero energy.

Does anyone else have any experience with a gluten free diet?

i was diagnosed with ulcerative colitits about 2 years ago, its pretty much the same as IBS, and I take 9 pills a day to help control it. But, a good healthy diet helps out a ton! dont eat junkfood, or drink soda and I'm sure it will help at least alittle bit. I hope this helps. I'd love to chat sometime. my aol name is NOSOOP4YEW

That wouldn't necessarily mean you are gluten intolerent, but it could. Symptoms usually appear 3 months from the time you stop a gluten free diet. But it's worth having it checked out. If your doctors prescribe the right test, it will include a blood test and a biopsy. Anything short of that is not credible enough.

My mother is gluten intollerent. There is a large range of replacement food that is actually quite good - corn-pasta, corn breads, rice, grits and alternative grains that you can learn to like - Quinoa, millit, buckwheat, etc. (millit is particularly nice)

Here is a website you can look at. Look at the first link under diagnosis.
The only problem with it is that it doesn't tell you to get intollerence checked, which is real bad - gluten free diet is a big change in the diet and shouldn't be done "just incase" but rather it should be done because of proof.

I take prescription librax 3 times a day and a fiber bulk forming laxative everyday. Its gross, but it has helped me so much. I cant eat greasy foods alot and milk is out of the question. Those are the two things that make ibs worse...along with stress.

I have had ibs as long as I can remember, but wasnt diagnosed with it until about 5 years ago after my gall bladder came out. I know its painful, trust me...I KNOW!!! I feel pretty good most days now that I am on librax and konsyl. I still stay bloated most of the time though...on days I am not bloated, I feel 20 pound lighter. And when I am really bloated..I feel 9 months pregnant. :sigh:

Talk to your doctor doctor about the bulk fiber....It really does help bunches and bunches.

Know that you are not alone though...there are about 15-20% of us that have ibs.

I will pray for you to get better.

God bless!!!
