I am ready for a break from CF (maybe permanent)

with all due respect - I'm perplexed as to why people who rarely, if ever, post in the repaholics forum are choosing to post in this particular thread - it makes absolutely no sense to me.

Maybe we know repdady from another thread besides repaholics? I have not posted in this particular thread, but was reading everyones comments. Yours caught me off gaurd...why does it matter? If people want to say bye then why cant they? Maybe there was a link somewhere else or other threads were chatting about it? When we loose someone...whether we now them or not...anybody has the right to say bye or whatever, because it is a loss to our family.

Dear Rep Daddy, Would miss you if you choose to leave CF. Respect your decision, as I've respected your posts and your thoughtfulness, humor and friendship. Am very grateful that our paths came together and hope that they will continue to meet!

now as a non-staff, I'd just like to express my admiration to RepDaddy for his enthusiasm and his encouragement. I hope you'll consider just a break, but don't leave us for good. Take your time to restore your spirit, come back with a clear heart and a calmer fellowship.

Hi RD. I really wish you would stay. You are a person I can turn to for prayer and advice and spiritual counsel especially when it comes to a new member asking for help, prayer and guidance on such tough issues. I really understand taking a break, all these changes and not having the site back where it should be is really draining. I also am not happy with some of the changes but I am staying because of the people.

I will be praying for you and your decision. I respect whatever your decision turns out to be. Hugs  and prayer :prayer: being sent your way.

RepDaddy/Steve,

I respect your decision, but will miss you lots. I had simular feelings of leaving even before the new site, but Jesus reminded that the enemy is doing his best to destroy this place and I could make the choice to be among those leaving OR I could stand firm on HIS SOLID ROCK and be a part of the building up process as opposed to the tearing down process. Jesus is a builder of people and we are to be his examples. The enemy will do what he can to distract us, convince us, upset us, etc. in order to get his way. I refuse to fall for his tactics and so I stand on the rock where I can clearly hear the VOICE of TRUTH!

Wishing you the best brother! I care great BIG!

This has NOTHING to do with the folks here at the Rep Forum. I dearly value you guys/gals and this forum has been the bright spot here at CF in the past half year.

Your kindness has prolonged my decision.

My frustration lies with areas outside the BE area and deal with philosophy of ministry and issues that I believe are important to the spiritual health of this site.

I have been here a long time and seen a lot of CF from the inside and outside and I am as discouraged as ever with the direction.

So I will take a couple of week's break from posting (I will keep up with friends re PMs) and after that decide whether to make this permanent.

I am not asking any of you to do anything. I just think you deserve to know where I am and why I am gonna be remote (at least).

Again, EVERY one of you in the forum have been great to me and I will miss this forum, but adding posts to this site is not something I want to do any more.

Perhaps I will change my mind, but a week's vacation only has strengthen my resolve to make this move.

Rep ON!

Steve

UPDATE: I appreciate the kind comments. I still have not made a decision but some site decisions of late leave me shaking my head. I could not invite a young Christian to CF (especially in the debate areas).

And I see more compromise on the horizon. It's sad.

You can always invite them to the Repaholics section.
I think we're all loving in this area :)

Usually I'm in here or in BE, I let things bother me that happened to a church I've been going to. Just hearing things and some things that happened to me there, it bothered me that these things go on in church. I had to take a break from here. So please don't leave we need people like you

I'm not a young Christian by any means (heck, I'm almost older than dirt - emphasis on the almost) and there's areas here that I won't venture - they're just too scary (too bad there isn't a "shudder" emoticon)

But the fellowship, prayer and support I find here and a few other areas more than make up for the scary areas:thumbsup:

That said - I'm grateful for whatever time you spend here with us Dr. Steve
