I am lost, Please help

I was born in a catholic family, I went to church every Sunday since I was born. when I was 16 years old, I started falling out of Catholic church, I mean I still going to Catholic church until now but it's seem to be so boring that the priest always telling the History about Jesus Christ without telling how to live in real life. I was accidently finding Muslim vs Chritian religion online.

after reading the comparision, I found that if I follow Jesus Christ then I will still going to hell according to Muslim religion. and if I follow Muslin Religon then I will still going to hell according to Christian Religion.

To be honest, I am now believe in God the creator but I don't believe in Religion anymore. I started praticing Buddism Meditation but still believe in God. Is there something wrong with me? Please advise

Hi. It's a good thing that you are sharing and looking for answers. There is nothing wrong with you, since you are still trying to find the right way to God. It's when you don't care anymore that you are in trouble, because then your heart has turned cold.

Now about finding the right way...see all other religions outside Christianity are really man's attempt to find a way to God, through right behaviour and rituals (i.e.praying five times a day or meditating). Christianity alone is alltogether different, since it is really God, reaching out to men by making a way for them - IN HIMSELF. Remember how Jesus said I AM THE WAY? One becomes a Christian by admitting that he can NOT get to God on his own, because of one's sinfulness, and humbly accepting the forgiveness that God has provided through the sacrifice of His Son.

Now what are you to do? I suggest you forget all the talk about religion for a while, and just pray to God directly every day (it is God who saves, not religion), that He will reveal Himself to you and show you the way and keep confusion away. In essence, you can tell Him exactly what you have come here to ask and share. See? You have been looking for answers from all sources, but have you gone to THE Source of all wisdom? I would also suggest that you read the Gospels, and then the read the rest of the new Testament, all the while asking God to show you the truth. God said, "You will seek me and find me, if you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). You can trust Him to keep His word. Just don't seek Him in all the wrong places. May God bless you.

I wanted to add that I have prayed for you. Not only that you may find the right way, but that God may lay His hand on you and raise you up to become a strong man of God, a man full of wisdom and a godly influence on those around you.

This is important for all of us: As we bless and pray for each other, we can break down the strongholds of the enemy of our souls. I realize that if I'm just here to read and entertain myself, I'm wasting my time. So, bless you brother, and hold fast to God's promises.

First of all, Muslims call Jesus a prophet. A prophet is someone who NEVER lies. Jesus claimed to be the son of God, Muslims deny that so they attack the Bible and say Jesus never said that etc... As Sola said, all religions instill a "good" person mentallity using a scale to balance good works vs. bad. The reality is not you or me or anyone is a "good" person. Jesus aid noone is good, no not one. No good works erase the sins you committed, the same as a rapist telling a judge "well judge I raped this woman, but I give to charity and clothe the homeless". You are still a rapist and still going to jail. Just like us, we are sinners and going to hell unless we come to Jesus Christ who shed his blood as a payment for us.

Stay away from Catholicism, they don't teach a relationship with Jesus Christ. I was from a Catholic family as well. Went to church as a child, but never knew anything about Jesus except he died for our sins. So of course grew older and with no relationship with Jesus broke away and indulged into sin strongly until it was too much of a burden, my only escape was to Jesus.

Its important that you acknowledge that we all are going to hell and deserve it because of our sin. God's inseparable love for us is shown by Jesus willingly dieing on the cross shedding his blood as a payment for your sins. Pray to him in repentance and faith confessing how you regret and sorry for sinning against him and ask him to sit on the throne of your heart.

If you haven't read anything in the Bible, its important you read the 4 gospels, 3 chapters or so a night. Not only reading but understanding as well.

God the Father is much more than just the Creator of all we perceive with our senses and accept with our minds.
Being human and trying to worship God in the best way we know how, we end up using a combo of two systems:
Rituals for or bodies and Symbols and Ikons for or minds. - The real you (spirit) stay empty.
Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is inside of us - we need to turn our focus inside and try to find that Kingdom. Only when we find it ,can we live fromwithin it and face the outside kingdom (the world). It is true that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light - By exepting Him as the Son of God and the only way or door supplied by God, we can tread on that path that go deeper into our souls.
It is possible !!!
Just take it slowly and use the word of God as your Light, your only light.

First of all, I like to thank you for your time praying for me and encouragement.

Here is a long story but I will make it short.

I fell away from Catholic church about three years ago because I was addicted playing with my Model Plane. I was addicted to this hobby that I spent all my time and money on it. it's like spending money, building it and then crashing it, after two years going on like that, I then figuire out that there is something wrong with this hobby but I just did not how to control it. I just keep spending money, building it and then crashing it.

I decided to see the priest at my local church and telling him about my situation. He adviced me to sell all my model planes and pray to God every morning and night. But I found I have two person deep inside me, one that telling me to sell all of my model planes and the other one telling me to keep them all. to be honest, I did not know how to pray, when I pray I said "Father, please help me to give up my hobby, I really love this hobby but I found there is something wrong with it".

After three months like that I still did not finding any improvement.

I decided to see a buddism monk which is two minutes from my house. I told him about my situation and he did not tell me anything, he's just telling me to sit there check the feeling and review my past whichever that brought me the suffer since the day I born. I did that for a months just checking my feeling and reviewing my past. a month later, he told me to fly my model plane and remember to check my feeling when I play with it and then describe the feeling to him. Amazedly, after one month I found a ton of thing about this hobby.

I found that I like to flying model plane just to showing off, I addicted to the feeling that people telling me that I am a super good pilot, I am the number one pilot and nobody can beat me. I wanted love, I wanted people to respect me and to know my name. Wow, what's ashame when I found out my sin. I automaticly drop the hobby and asked God to forgive me.

I've been praticing buddism meditation for a year, I found that I lived but still sleeping. Buddism mediation is nothing about religion, until now I don't even know who the buddha is. They taught me nothing about Buddha or believe in Buddha. they taught me finding out the truth about myself, looking into myself instead of blame on someone else or an object.

**If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that.

**Why do you look at the speck of sawdut in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

**No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognize by its own fruit.

**Why do you call me,'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

Last summer, the 700 club on CBN did a story about a man who turned away from Islam to be a Christian. He was raised to be muslim by a devoted muslim family and knew no other God than Allah..
One day however, he was introduced to the concept of Christianity through someone he knew..
Just like you he became very confused. He didn't know which way to go or what to believe in. He also feared the violence and beatings that would result from falling away from the muslim faith by his family and community..

Lost and in need of answers, he approached the Lord with all his heart and said to the Lord "God, I want to follow you but which way do you want me to go? Do I follow Mahammud, or do I follow Jesus Christ?" God answered the mans cry and pointed him down the righteous path that led him straight to Christ..

I want you to know that before telling you this story, I prayed for you.. I spoke to the Lord on your behalf, reminding Him of what he did for the man in the story and asked the Lord to do the same for you.. I have faith in the Lord that He will help you.. But if you want His help, you have to come to Him with your heart and ask Him for it..

Please do not misquote the Bible, that's how confusion sets in. It is important that you read it carefully and in context. The verses you quoted are John 8:31 and 32 and it reads, "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free". See, nothing about "knowing yourself".
You could go to biblegateway dot com. It's great to find passages by verse or keyword. I use it often.
As far as buddhism being sin - ask yourself, "do the people that teach this believe in Jesus? Do they give God the glory? Do they obey His teaching?" If the answer is no to these questions, than how can you have any part in it? Denying that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God is sin indeed. We don't need to see how far we can go to the other side and still call ourselves Christians. The teachings of the Bible are enough for us to know how to live our lives.

I also found that when I thought I am smart and know everything is the time that I am totally lost. I repent, please pray for me to overcome my unbelief.

I use meditation, and it helps. But it's what you meditate ON that makes the difference. I meditate on Christ, His sacrifice, His love, and His compassion on the hopeless.

Find a verse that speaks to you, and meditate on that for a while.

The only advice and support I can give to this is that you yourself look into the Word. You will forever be in confusion if you continue to adhere to other people and their views.

I was raised under a few different religions, and I stand now where I do because I chose to starting finding out what "I" believed, what "I" found as I read, what "I" started seeing as proof and affirmations. There's nothing more powerful than your own understanding. Pray for it and for the spirit. It is our "spiritual eyes" to understand and be comforted in what God wants us to know and do.

You can't know God without knowing Jesus. Hi there you need to get by the stage of looking for the right belief system, that just doesn't cut it. We need a relationship with Jesus Christ, and God the Father. Jesus died so that you and I can have our sins forgiven and be reconciled to His Father God. The bllod of Jesus was shed for your sake and mine. The grave could not hold Him for Jesus rose again on the third day and is alive for evermore,
There is only one God- God in thre persons- Father, son and Holy Spirit - the trinity.
Right now Jesus sees your confusion, He knows you are searching and His arms are wide open saying to you "Come to me, give your life to me, come follow me for I am the way, the truth and the life."
