I agree that marriage is good according to proverbs. But does that mean that singleness is bad?

I know that you said never mind, but to those who can truly control their drive or have little to no problem with it; being single can be the greatest gift of all. And my hats off to them I have nothing but the upmost respect for them but I think in truth they are more rare than the some in the Church would have us believe. So if you are asking for yourself or someone else if you can contain and have no problem with loneliness praise God and continue in His Service as He has given you the ability, I Corinthians 7:7-9.

Being single isn't bad, but for myself I have been happy in both states.
Celibacy is pointless, however. Apart remarks by that rascal St Paul, there is nothing in the Bible I know of which encourages it. (I admit, I haven't been searching. Perhaps there are some Bible scholars who can point to something relevant . . .)
