  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’m not sure

Right so basically people can get raptured and there bodies get left here there bodies don’t die right away after there soul has been taken up

1Corinthians 15:35-37; 42-44 "But someone will say, How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come? How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised in imperishable. (Sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption.) It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." (NIV)

Verse 51-52, "Listen, I tell you a mystery: we will not all sleep, (die) but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of a eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead (in Christ) will be raised imperishable (incorruptible) and we will be changed."(NIV)

Philippians 3:20-21; "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body."(NIV)

I'm not a bible scholar, but to me these scriptures seem to suggest that our natural body, whether alive or in the grave at the moment of the rapture, will be instantly changed into a new, glorified body, a body like the body of the risen Lord Jesus.

When the rapture happens do bodies go up to heaven or does bodies get left and the soul and spirit gets caught up? And what’s scripture to back it up ?
Luckily for us all, the rapture is a 19th century imaginative invention and not at all based in fact.

SerenityA, look at 1Thessalonians 4:16-18: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (raptured) together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Notice verse says "comfort one another;" it does not say "confuse one another" as some are attempting to do, and they will probably attack me for posting this.
John Nelson Darby did not invent the rapture doctrine. You just read it in 1Thessolians 4.
