I'm very new here on the forum, but I want to welcome you as well. I have been a born-again Christian since '93, but I would call me a stubborn one. Mostly I say that because I would not read the bible, myself, I just listened to pastors in the church buildings, and went to bible-studies which were always on some verses/parts of the bible. I am 69 years old now, and I now read my bible every day, word for word, chapter by chapter, and book by book.

I started with the Gospels because I just feel I was led by God to do that. So I recommend it to you because it has been wonderful for me, and God wants us to know Him, and His Word is what I call, His Story, the bible. I also ask His help, in prayer, to help me learn what He has for me in His Word.

One verse I want to show you is what I know is the first one He wanted to teach me, I've copied it below, and as so many christian's recommended to me, read the Book of John first in the New Testament. The verse below is in Chapter 3 if you want to see how Jesus tells a man that he must be born again.

Jhn 3:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

PS If you don't have a bible, please let us know, it is The Word of God, and you need that to know Him and truth. We can all help you but it is most important for you to know His Word yourself so that you recognize truth from lies. Also, get into a christian church (bible-believing church) where you can meet other christians offline, as well as online. If you need help, keep coming here, I find this forum has many Christians that can help you.

Thankyou for spending the time and thought to reply to my message Thankyou

Welcome to CF! As we walk with Him, His Holy Spirit leads us into repentance. When we repent we are in essence changing our mind. It is not possible to truly repent from sin without the work of His Holy Spirit in our life. We are regenerated though His Holy Spirit and enter the Body of Christ.
From time to time we " quench" His work in us but He is ready to remind us of what is righteous. Do not doubt this. Blessings.

Thankyou for spending the time and thought to reply to my message.

Beloved one, I rejoice, that you come to Christ.

Beloved one, continue to remember such things that you have said,”For the first time I can remember I felt Jesus come into my mind and into my body on Monday.”

For this is what we have heard:
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, continue to think how Jesus come to you, and meditate on these things.

Beloved one, you said that Jesus spoke to you. Beloved one, perceive what Jesus our Lord Himself have said:

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, we should perceive that the words that Jesus speaks to us are Spirit, and they are life.

Beloved one, you said,”Jesus spoke to me and I felt a great calm overcome me.” That feeling or sensation of a great calm is His peace - the peace of Christ.

For we heard our Lord Jesus Himself said:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So beloved one, don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid of those who spoke against you, that peace Christ leave with you. Beloved one, you have rightly chosen, never want Jesus to ever leave your mind and your body ever again.Beloved one, hold fast what He has given you.

May God’s peace always be with you. Amen

Lovely to greet you here.

Just a short word of advice from me. You are feeling a longing for holiness inside. That is natural and from God calling you. What unfortunately happens is that others will try to tell you that as long as you confess when you sin that is all that is required, but it is a lie from Satan.

To receive impartation of holiness as well as imputed holiness, what is required from you is dedication to absolute submission to His every command and you can do it when He gives the power. Don't compromise on this. Bless you.

so I have two questions. Firstly if I sin as I have before many times will Jesus leave my body and mind? I never want Jesus ever to leave my body and mind ever again. What is the consequence of sin for a Christian?
Jesus won't leave you, but you will need to repent to him in order to get your relationship with him back on track.

my second question is about the enemy, the great dragon, whatever we call him. I live in supported accommodation and I wonder if one of my carers is a satanist. It’s well known I’m a Christian and I worry that if she is into Satan she may meddle in my life. Satanists have no morals right? so can, and do you think it’s likely, that she would meddle in my life (spiritual or otherwise)?
Don't worry about it. Be kind and fair to her. Whatever a non-Christian's religion is, that doesn't make her an enemy. It makes her a lost person who needs to be found.

Thankyou for all your help Lenno

Hi Lenno,

Jesus is very slow to leave us, He is faithful to us, and He is just. You may not always "feel" Jesus but know that once He is with you he promises not to leave easily. As for the question about the Satanist, know that Jesus is far more powerful than the devil and He will protect you from any Spiritual attack.

I have also pasted below what it means to be a Christian (from my website), so you can understand how God "technically" saves you.

The bible tells us that:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved [than by Jesus]. Act 4:12

Jesus also said:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Joh 14:6

So we need to look to the words and commands of Jesus to see how to be saved. The bible uses the word “faith”, which means trust, to describe salvation. We are told:

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Rom 3:28

We are justified by our faith in Jesus to save us, and not by our own righteous deeds.

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; Rom 4:16

We can be assured of salvation, because it is by faith, not our works. This will bring us peace.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Rom 5:1

Yet we are not to take advantage of grace and just continue in sin:

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Rom 6:1-2

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Gal 5:13

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. Gal 2:17

So we as Christians, are saved now, by grace, not by our deeds, yet we are not to continue to live in sin, God has a higher pathway for us. The grace that saves us, and the thing in which we trust is the forgiveness offered by Jesus when he died in our place on the cross. As a sacrifice for sin.

Every sin we committed was placed upon Jesus at the cross, and He took the penalty that we deserve. Being crucified in the body, but then made alive.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 10:9

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa 53:4-6

jesus-on-cross.jpg

So the question has to be asked, what if I were to sin, would Jesus forgive me, would I lose grace. Do I need to be perfectly sinless. Although it is good to be sinless the bible tells us that we will all have a degree of sin at the time we die.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1Jn 1:8

So it is not by being sinless that we get to heaven. Yet I give a warning to the one who makes deliberate use of grace to sin, the bible says that when we sin we are hardened, we move toward spiritual blindness.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:13

God allows this progressive blindness to occur, so that we will no longer believe if we are desirous of sin.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Th 2:11-12

So we should always move toward God, and away from sin.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 2Pe 1:4-9

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2Ti 2:19

There are some verses, like the one above, that are taken out of context and which seem to say we cannot be without sin.

If we say we are without sin, is about refusing to come to Him for impartation of holiness. It is not about effort.

Please learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, note Holy, within you and not to men who are being deceived by the enemy.

Be ye holy as l am ho!y, He says.

Dear Lenno,

Praise God that you have found Jesus. As a new Christian the very first thing is to understand that Jesus came to save you from your sin, all you have to do is to give it to Him. When you accept Him and His work on the cross into your life by admitting that you are a sinner and asking Him to cover your sin with His blood so that you are washed clean of your sin, you find a new freedom, peace and joy..

God loves you and has a plan for your life. He doesn’t want you to live in the grip of sin. Just as you were born into this world you can be born again into the Kingdom of God. You can pray this prayer.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I want you in my life and I want your forgiveness for my sin. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your son and I believe that He died for my sin and You raised Him to life. I want to trust Jesus with my life and live in the fullness of all that He has for me. I want to be born into Your Kingdom and live as a child of God .from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do Your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen

If you have a Bible, this is God’s Word for you to read. You can start by reading John 3:16.

It says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes on Him Shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

You can begin to read His word, pray just as if you are talking to Him and praise Him in worship thanking Him for who He is and what He is doing in your life.

Know that the Bible says that God is greater than anything in and of this world. This includes Satan. He has no power over you when you become God’s child. God will give you what you need to be a witness for God with your caregiver. You may be the one who leads this person to Jesus simply because of what they will see as Jesus works in your life.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. You are a new person with Jesus living within you. He is renewing your mind and surrounding you with His love and peace. What a wonderful joy.
