  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hebrews 12:17
For ye know how that afterward,
when he would have inherited the blessing,
he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance,
though he sought it carefully with tears.

Jude 1:3-4

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. [4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lasciviousness means “license to sin.” It could also be defined as “unrestrained liberty” or “abuse of privilege.” In essence, this meant license to do what seems right in one’s own eyes, according to one’s own conscience.

Jude 1 The Scriptures (ISR 1998)

1Yehuḏah, a servant of יהושע Messiah, and brother of Ya‛aqoḇ, to those who are called, set-apart by Elohim the Father, and preserved in יהושע Messiah:

2Compassion, and peace, and love be increased to you.

3Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones.

4For certain men have slipped in, whose judgment was written about long ago, wicked onesa perverting the favour of our Elohim for indecency, and denying the only Master יהוה and our Master יהושע Messiah.

5But I intend to remind you, though you once knew this, that יהוה, having saved a people out of the land of Mitsrayim, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

6And the messengers who did not keep their own principality, but left their own dwelling, He has kept in everlasting shackles under darkness for the judgment of the great day.

7Even as Seḏom and Amorah and the cities around them in a similar way to these, having given themselves over to whoring and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, undergoing judicial punishment of everlasting fire.

8In the same way, indeed, these dreamers defile the flesh, and reject authority, and speak evil of esteemed ones.

9But Miḵa’ĕl the chief messenger, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Mosheh, presumed not to bring against him a blasphemous accusation, but said, “יהוה rebuke you!”

10But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves.

11Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bil‛am for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of Qoraḥ.

12These are rocky reefs in your love feasts, feasting with you, feeding themselves without fear, waterless clouds borne about by the winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots,

13wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shame, straying stars for whom blackness of darkness is kept forever.

14And Ḥanoḵ, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied of these, saying, “See, יהוה comes with His myriads of set-apart ones,

15to execute judgment on all, to punish all who are wicked among them concerning all their wicked works which they have committed in a wicked way, and concerning all the harsh words which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.”

16These are grumblers, complainers, who walk according to their own lusts, and their mouth speaks proudly, admiring faces of others for the sake of gain.

17But you, beloved ones, remember the words spoken before by the emissaries of our Master יהושע Messiah,

18because they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own wicked lusts.

19These are the ones who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

20But you, beloved ones, building yourselves up on your most set-apart belief, praying in the Set-apart Spirit,

21keep yourselves in the love of Elohim, looking for the compassion of our Master יהושע Messiah unto everlasting life.

22And show compassion toward some who are doubting,

23but others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating, even the garment defiled by the flesh.a

24And to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His esteem with exceeding joy,

25to the only wise Elohim, our Saviour, be esteem and greatness and might and authority, both now and forever. Amĕn.

Calvinists believe that we are saved by the blood, which is freely given as grace. The WCF chapters 8 (Of Christ the Mediator) and 10 (Of Effectual Calling) explain this in great detail, with all of the scriptural references.

The blood of Jesus is not grace
Blood+ faith = righteousness that formula is in he bible clearly and is what gives you grace / favor in Gods eyes = salvation

Romans chapter 4 4 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?[a] 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

The meaning of grace IN this and all passages what was meant is favor in GODS eyes

And it came after faith to righteousness to grace
Which made the Gentiles/ Greeks want to fallow the law willingly
The question was asked then because the Jews were also conflicted with this law over grace this is a great controversy that has been since jesus came lol

For what saith the scripture?
""The big question the writer is using Abraham clearly because he was uncircumcised before he received faith and became righteous then he found favor and willing obeys the law! ""
""And David was used ton VALIDATE all forgiven sins past transgressions Before righteousness"""

was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised. For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith
Romans‬ [bless and do not curse]4‬:[bless and do not curse]3-13‬ KJV

Amen

I'm glad you used this passage to show me what I was trying to show you

Grace came right AFTER the resurrection. In the completed work of Christ. Grace is what He did for us and what we RECEIVE from what He has done.

How you can put 'grace' after faith and righteousness is beyond me.

Do you not realize that if Christ had never extended grace to us, we wouldn't have been offered salvation?

What could we have done to earn salvation if it would not have been given to us through His grace? Nothing.

So, without His grace and His gift to us. We would be lost.

I don't understand why that is so hard to understand.

Ware is this idea you've used in the bible

You can't have favor in GODS eyes unless your righteous that's been a major theme in the word from OT to NT

I gave you passages " I didn't just make up or say blanket statements at" I truly try to stick with scripture :

The passage says clearly through faith multiple times and righteousness multiple times so let's read what the are saying.

note: Now if faith produces righteousness after you've repented !

Mind you jesus blood hadn't been shed yet for David's sins to be COVARD and he wasn't obeying the LAW YET so no sacrifice for sin
!!! So how did his sins go away??
Repentance not sinning = righteousness

Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin
