I got the call yesterday around 2 pm that Grandma had passed on after pneumonia set in.I was moved to tears but my husband didn't shed a single tear, nothing.I let it go...maybe he cried alone but he seems to feel well, she was 102.:( My one Grandma only lived to be in her 20's. The other one died in childbirth with my Dad.I guess I was attached to this one because I never had one.
How attached are you to your grandparents and how is their health? Ages?

God bless you in your loss, Ritz. I just lost my 92 year old aunt to whom I was very attached. It's hard to both rejoice in the long life and mourn their passing, isn't it?
She was the last of my senior generation which means that my sisters and I are now the senior generation!! Spooky thought!

yes :( it is hard to be "happy" that this Grandma of mine by marriage is in "the better life". I always feel this way,it's my loss though and letting go takes Gods help. Isn't is funny though,I tell people all the time "don't cry for me when i'm gone.party and pray for me".
LOL @ senior generation! Sounds like the star trek generation.I think seniors begin in the 80's ;)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Praying that God will give you comfort during your grief and hold you in His arms. :prayer:

This thread made tears come to my eyes because I only have one grandparent left...my grandmother who will be 95 in November, and she's recently been diagnosed with breast cancer...:sigh: ...she's very special to me (which sounds so trite and is putting it very mildly) and has been a huge influence in my life...I'm going up to Kentucky next week for my sister's wedding...bittersweet because I'll have to say goodbye to Grandma as they've not given her too much longer here with us...

 It is hard to lose anyone that you are close to Ritz and I am sorry for your loss:kiss: People react differently to grief, so perhaps your husband just hadn't processed her death yet. I will pray for him that he would find comfort and a listening heart when he needs it.

I don't have any living grandparents. My mom's dad died when I was 2 years old and my grandmother died when I was 18. My dad's dad died before I was born and my grandmother on my dad's side didn't like us kids because my mom left my dad, so I never had a relationship with her. She died about 20 years ago.

My kids have great grandparents in my husband's parents! They are really wonderful people who love Jesus. They are both in their mid 80's now so they have slowed down alot but I am thankful that my kids are loved and prayed for by them.

Sorry for your loss Ritz:groupray:

All my grandparents are gone.....my grandmother on mom's side passed when I was 18, I was young and didnt know what to feel, my grandmother on dad's side passed in 1998 and I miss her more everyday, and even thought of her today while at the grocery store because a lady I kept passing in the isle "smelled" like her, same perfume I guess?
