  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The preterist way of thinking is wrong and does nothing but confuse people..
The only people that it would confuse, are those who aren't already grounded in their beliefs. It didn't take me very long to find out that certain Eschatoligical aspects of Preterism didn't agree with God's Spirit on the inside of me. Same with Acts6:5...he doesn't agree with some aspects of futurism..BUT, he believes that Jesus is coming back, and his Savior is Jesus Christ.
This is it in a nut shell regarding the way that I feel these days. If the person has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, believe in the blood atonement, and that Jesus is coming again in future glory...I say, you are my brother and sister in Christ!!! The full blown Preterist on the other hand believes that Jesus already came, and THAT I WON'T accept!!!
Look folks, with what is going on in this nation right now, we would do well to quit the..."you are wrong and I am right", and be in prayer over what is happening in this nation. Who knows, while we are sitting on here berating each others doctrine, something just as bad or worse could happen where you or I are living. Let's try to love each other more as the Body of Christ should.

See i was right , but don't worry i will pray for you...lol

I hope the "LOL" after the "I will pray for you" wasn't meant to render that offer Sarcastic, for I do covet your prayers Brain, I need them.

Like I said, I may not be the brightest knife in the socket, but it seems to me that taunting a fellow Christian by saying you'll pray for them when you really have no intention of doing so, isn't very "Christ like".

What did you mean by LOL anyway?
Is the notion of praying for me actually humurous to you?

I guessed right then. I have a question though(or 2 questions with the same meaning ;)). Is Christ's second coming foreshadowed by a series of events? Does certain things have to happen before He returns?

Yes, if you accept the words of Jesus. Before it is all said and done men will blaspheme The God of Heaven for the things coming upon this world.

Acts6:5 said:
Yes, it is very tragic. Even in the most "civilized" of nations will act barbaric when civil restraints are lifted.

I am glad you used quotation marks around that. ;)

Why is it that every time somebody attacks Israel, Israel is supposed to "show restraint" and not defend itself or go after the people who attacked? Amazing double standard. For any other nation, being attacked by a group directly supported by a hostile country is an act of war. But for Israel? Nope.

Beautifully put.

Everyone should be praying for the disaster-stricken people living on the Gulf Coast. They need food, water, and shelter - which many of them doubt they'll get. Just saw on CNN that one man had a seizure right in front of reporters, yet there was no doctor to tend to him. This isn't a good situation; we shouldn't be arguing now when these victims are in such a predicament.

Why do I get the feeling that this nation is in for a VERY bumpy ride? Does anyone else think this or is it just me?
Hey welchman, how ya doing?...Long time no talk to. Yeah, we better get those pillows attached to our butts. I really feel that our nation is going to feel the effects of this hurricane for quite sometime economically.
I watched Bushes speech earlier, and something loomed into my brain while he was talking about the gas situation. He said that only American oil tankers were allowed to be on our oceans. He said that he was going to now allow foriegn shippers to deliver our crude....WARNING BELLS. They just said a few days ago, that one good way to really knock the USA out of commission, was for the terrorists to knock out our oil reserves. All we need is a ship full of Arabs delivering our crude oil. Is Bush nuts!!!??? Yes, I believe that even more perilous times are ahead for this nation, and we need each others prayers now more then ever before.

Nana - what better time than now when we are distracted to stage an enormous terrorist attack. We could be worse than down - we could be out economically. :(
I hear ya. I really don't feel that all is going to be well with this nation from here out. No repentance, No blessing. Plus, I just heard on the news that California just passed a bill on same sex marriage. It has to go to the next level to be voted in, and was shot down last time. It wouldn't surprise me if it passes this time. I'm going to go stock up on water and canned food. No telling when the ground will give a heave-ho!!

Franklin Graham...Billy's son just gave a good idea. Take all of those men that are sitting in those shelters back to New Orleans...when it's feasible to do so, and pay them $25 - $30 hr. to clean up the city. He said it is done in other countries when catastrophies happen, and works out good. At that wage, and how long it will take, they could afford to live quite nicely. Most of them have probably not ever seen a wage like that before. Looked like a lot of young strong men to me that went into those shelters. They should pretty much be over the shock of what happened by the time the water is taken out of there, so put them to work!!

I'm sure that we both say things that irritate each other some times...well, you do me anyhow  ... but we already have a history together on here ^_^ . If I was in a room, and one other Preterist and you were in there, and I needed prayer, I would ask you first, LOL. I'll leave you to guess who the "one other" is  .

Not from what I've read, especially last night when I wrote my post. The French Quarter is built on the heighest elevation of the city, so it would not be "practically underwater". It's one place that was spared flooding.

Well,The French Quarter is 3 feet under water. Trust me, I have a friend who lives 10 MILES AWAY from the French Quarter. She has seen it, and it is on TV. It may not be SUBMERGED under water, but water is flowing through MOST of it. Canal Street, for example.

Acts6:5 said:
Antoinette, eddy proposed the idea that God doesn't appreciate the iniquities of Mardi Gras, and thus the hurricane may have been a response to that. I posted what I did because the place where Mardi Gras is centered (the French Quarter) was spared the worst of Katrina's fury, and I had read a news story about people on Bourbon Street heading off to a bar to celebrate the French Quarter's survival.

I don't know. I'm not going to PREDICT anything. God is just in what He does, but hurricanes happen. My husband used to live in New Orleans, and he told me that they have always been worried about a hurricane hitting them head-on. Besides, if God DID give this hurricane as a response to the iniquities in New Orleans, then why did Biloxi get the worst damage??

Acts6:5 said:
Exactly, Antoinette, I agree - which is why I and others here don't necessarily see a large hurricane during hurricane season in an area where hurricanes are prevelant as a sign of God's judgment.

In Christ,

Acts6:5

Exactly. It's like saying an increase in earthquake activity where earthquakes are KNOWN to happen is a sign of God's judgement. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for Him to return, but, as stated in Revelations, we will not know the time or day when He will return. Trying to predict His return isn't gonna help.

Now, don't get me wrong. I firmly believe God has His hand in everything, and He lets everything happen for a reason. Sometimes, we my not be sure what that reason is. I do know that He wants us to love one another, regardless of where they live. We should be praying for all those who are suffering in the aftermath of Katrina. I was worried about people I knew who still lived there, and I'm glad to say that everyone has been accounted for.

Because Biloxi's main income was from gambing also. My ex-sister-in-law was the head housekeeper at one of those floating gambling casino/motels right on the coast of Biloxi. That whole gulf was steeped in gambling & drugs etc. It was a sewer!!! It won't surprise me if something happens to Vegas, Reno and other gambling areas.

WOW...what a revelation!!!! I have felt for quite sometime that Bush was a messin' where he shouldn't have his nose with this Roadmap To Peace. God said to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, not uproot her people and give the land to the Palistinians. This has done nothing but make the Jews hate the Palistinans more. The Palistinans will always hate the Jews no matter what. I believe that this article is right on the money!!! There are just to many simularities to be a coincidence.
