God likes his children hungry! Hungry for him! We want to be fed but stay hungry! He responds to that!

But thirsty? We need to be at that well of living water and drink frequently!

We can go a while without food...in fact, God often asks his children to fast...but he won't take away water! We need water or we die! I feel this is the case spiritually as well. Maybe Christians who feel really deprived spiritually, are thirsty? Take a big drink of that living water! We need food too, but we can go a lot longer without it! And when we get that first bite after not eating for awhile it tastes so good!(honeymoon period, after being in a valley) But if you eat too much you might get sick of it. (I'm not sure if you can really get sick of God, but maybe that's why he wants us to be hungry for him, we are never fully satisfied, we might get close to feeling satisfied, but never completely)God will keep us fed for our spiritual health but he wants us hungry for that reason also, stay Desperate for him. Hungry! But never stop drinking that living water!

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

Thank you so much you guys for making this a safe place to share what God is saying to me! I'm a young Christian(8months) so I'm just figuring out how to be that kind if vessel! I love it though! Getting my feet wet

God bless you!

Good insight concerning the different necessities in food and water. I do believe we can eat too fast; and should chew slowly the Word, savor each bit, and let it digest. Eat too fast and it can be unhealthy in the sense that you may be completely missing the truth that needs to be digested in the slow process. For example, the very verse you quoted:

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

Such a profound understanding to be digested in this one verse. The understanding of a great mystery hidden in plain sight. "On the last day ... shall flow rivers of living water." That Great Day.
