You tire me with your blather. I would just tell you to get lost, but I'm feeling a little generous today.

First, my 'time' on this forum amounts to about an hour per week. Probably considerably LESS time than most here do. As for 'effort', you Trads give yourself FAR too much credit. It is no effort whatsoever to demolish some of your nonsense. As long as you people fight against reform in the church, Adventists like me will continue to fight for it. Deal with it.

And yeah, I consider the future of the church I am a member of and fighting against the ruin people like you are bringing it to to be of the utmost importance and a high priority. Certainly more important than who is and who isn't drinking milk.

Second, I do not 'fight' against EGW personally. I fight against some of the wrong permises and false statements she has made. Big difference.

Third, how do you know I have not taken part in protests against abortion clinics in my community? How do you know I have not petitioned city council and the Canadian government for laws against the practice?

You don't, period. You just assume, and we all know what assuming does.

BTW, yes I have done both many times, I and will continue the fight against this procedure until my last breath.

So, there goes your false charges, shot down in flames.

I wish I could join you in your laughter Pythons, but unfortunately we Progressive SDA's have to deal with this sort of absurd nonsense on a daily basis from Traditional Adventism. This is only a sample. It can get worse, believe me.

And yes, they are serious about the whole lot of it.

On a serious note however, my Dad had a massive heart attack and nearly didn't make it through it. My Dad asked me to go with him to his 1st cardiologist visit and I atcually heard the Doctor ask him if he would like to "take up cigarette smoking".

I unfortunately am a smoker so I paid close attention to what this doctor was saying. He told my Dad that everytime he wanted a milkshake he should instead eat a porterhouse steak and lobster tail smothered in butter and follow it up with a couple cigarettes because that would be better for his heart then drinking milkshakes.

My Dad drank a milkshake "every single day of summer" since I could remember. My Mom would make him a big one and just give him the whole blender container and he would go out, hop onto the tractor and get to work. Prior to the heart attack my Dad = slender and rock solid (could bend a 16 penny nail inbetween his fingers). I only drink about 5 shakes per year now. Given what happened to my Dad with him being a non-smoker and moderiate drinker when both my Grandfathers hit the booze hard with one living to 86 and the other to 98 both using tobacco I'm convinced Milkshakes are bad for ya.

I'm thinking saying milk is bad for you is total bunk but I know milkshakes are...

Ummm.. . I guess it is safer to take manufactured calcium supplements than to get it from organic milk or cheeses or yogurt? As a female, calcium is very important to my health. Many of these studies are done on men and do not take into account women give birth and breast feed increasing their need from calcium beyond that which is easily obtained from veggies. One size doesn't fit all!

If you are concerned about calcium and in your case you should be, you shouldn't drink milk. Milk is acidic. It leeches calcium from your bones.

You should look into getting calcium from veggies.

Some veggies are high in calcium: cabbage, chicory greens, parsley, mustard spinach, artichoke ...

I know that acidic foods get a bad rap, but they are actually o.k. Studies show that you can actually benifit from eating more acidic foods to help regulate your blood pH. For the acid to leach calicium from your bones, your blood pH would be incompatable with life. Veggies do have calcium, but as a female, it is recommended if you are on a vegan diet you take a supplement. If I am trying to be natural and healthy, I can't see taking a chemical supplement for something that is biblically clean for me to eat. But that is my own personal opinion. You have to do what you feel is best for your own body.
