  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmmm. I gotta say I like the idea of *partial* cloning... need a new heart? Grow one. A new kidney? Give us a couple months, we'll mail it to you. How great would that be for the transplant needful? To not have to rely on someone else's death to live...

As for the cloning of an entire human, brain, nervous system and all... it seems a little pointless to me. We've got enough people on the planet already, and many unwanted children, plus lots of ways to have a pre-fertilized embryo implanted... but if someone still really wants a clone, I don't see any reason why not. Ethically wrong? Naaah.

This technology has a lot of potential and I think it would be foolish to just ignore it just because it 'feels unnatural'. We should be careful with it for sure but ignoring it altogether? No.

I don't even consider cloning itself to be that bad. If you however consider a second copy of yourself to be your personal slave for example then it's not cloning that's the problem, it's your ethics.

To me the holy grail of technology would be bio-engineering which litterally can make the next generation super humans (10 times more effecient brains, no more illnesses, etc..) which would make the old generation completely second grade and 'useless'. But this is the future of mankind whether we like it or not, although taking it in small steps would probably be a good thing. :)
