Awkward hugs are the best!

Especially if it's from a guy who you know likes you. I'm so evil... I laugh in my mind. But it's like an aw-how-adorable hug.

I do it the same way. Patting people's backs. I sometimes give half hugs as well. I just remembered last year one of my friends tortured me about giving half hugs and said she'd hug me until I hugged back right I wasn't allowed to give her a half hug. Another friend from that country also asked if she could kiss my cheek goodbye (it's in her country's culture). I said no.

That's it; half hugs. It's not their fault completely, we're just not a huggy family, we show affection in other ways but I think it's a big contribution to why I find it awkward. I was coerced in a similar way by my little brother had no choice but to give in.

Anyone ? (Assuming youre female...) even perfect male strangers or males you dont know that might have an ulterior motive behind that hug ???? That doesnt seem wise to do . A Hug believe it or not, is an intimate expression--something that should be reserved for special people who are trustworthy it would seem.

well, so far i haven't encountered anything like that -- i usually don't make myself available to hug people i don't know anyways, but yea.. if i felt there was a wrong motive, perhaps then i would deny it

Well be on guard, cause theres lots of guys who would love to hug you for a quick turn on which could lead to them stalking you. Im not trying to frighten you, but, we live in a very sexually illicit society now and it pays for a woman to be guarded and not be too flamboyant as much as we'd like to think no one would want to deliberately use us.
