CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah,I've heard of it before, but this guy really drove it home for me by the examples he provided, and because he was able to emphasize it for me. (Although his own same-sex attraction didn't stem from a bad relationship with his father, it stemmed from being being bullied at school, and being exposed to porn at an early age.)

Usually, but it's more complicated than that. As mentioned in other threads, there are certain preconditions a child must have in order to react the way he or she will when the event(s) hit, and develop same-sex attraction. These events can be very traumatic or very subtle.
There are however, cases of teens and young adults developing homosexuality through experimenting and/or getting hooked on pornography, and it getting carried away from there.

We don't really know for sure, but there's probably a broad range types of preconditions, from genetic to environmental.

I love to pray to Mary. Praying to her soothes me. She is spiritually beautiful and makes me feel at peace to know she is looking after me. I pray to Mary every day, multiple times a day. Mary gives me peace in my soul and helps me forgive my torturers. Mary helps my soul stay soft. Mary protects me from evil.

The above being Truth! I Love my Mother Mary, we all should leap for Joy, as the baby John in the womb of Elizabeth. As Scripture states: 44For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Jesus Christ stated: ...Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise.
The infant John by leaping for Joy in Elizabeth womb gave, Mary perfect Praise, per Our Lord! Should we Catholics or Protestants do any less?
Many Protestants and all Catholics myself included should take a lesson from John, on how to have true devotion and perfect Praise to and for Virgin Mary. Lets leap for Joy when we hear the name of Mary, so that we may hear her voice in Heaven greeting us.
Lets not be afraid to take Mary in as Mother, if you are, then how can you ever be a true brother / sister of Jesus Christ.
