Hi, everyone. I just joined the forum. I'm 38 years old and have never been a member of a church even though I've always believed in the existence of a higher power. My wife and I recently began going through the adoption process for a baby girl and I've decided to take my spiritual life more seriously. I've been reading the Bible on a regular basis, but haven't picked a church at this point.

I like mountain biking, motorsports, reading, and watching movies. My user name is a reference to my heritage, not my location.

Welcome to CF. May the Lord give you wisdom and provide a good, gospel preaching church within a reasonable distance. It sounds as if the adoption process has moved along to a late stage. May God provide all the way through! (BTW "adoption" in the NT is a heart-warming salvation metaphor.)

We're actually closer to the beginning stages than the end. My wife and I were having fertility problems, so we went through our county's foster-to-adopt program. Our daughter was born May 30th and was surrendered to the county by her mother. The social worker called us June 1st and we went and picked her up from the hospital. The adoption process usually takes about six months, so we still have a little over four months to go.
