Today is Perihelion.
Earth at Perihelion is observed two weeks after the December Solstice, which falls on January 3 or 4 every year — January 4 this year. On this day, the Earth is at the point in its orbit where it is closest to the Sun.

Aren't you glad you know that? Happy Perihelion!

Daisy, how many cats and what breeds do you have? I like orange tabby cats but I'm allegic to dogs and cats.
I don't have any cats. When I was younger, I had two cats - Sheila and Bill, both Siamese. I had Sheila for 21 years, Bill for 10 (he was adventurous, escaped, and came to a sad end). I didn't want another cat after Sheila died, but I've had two dogs since then, both pit-mixes rescued.

My ankles are too arthritic to walk a dog these days (meaning to have them fixed soon). I am allergic to cats, but I half-way want one - but they're so destructive to things on shelves, which I have a lot of.
