HOW DID JUDAS DIE?

Then Judas, which had betrayed him (Jesus), when he saw that he was
condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of
silver to the chief priests and elders. Saying, I have sinned in that I
have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us?
see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple,
and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests
took the silver pieces and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the
treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and
bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore

Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which
the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas,
which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with

a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder
in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was known unto
all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper
tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The Field of Blood.

He climbed up a tree, tied a noose to a branch and the other end around his neck and jumped.....the branch could not hold his weight and snapped, jerked him around in the process, causing him to fall headlong to the ground.....landing on a rocks his body was smashed to pieces, causing his bowels to fall out.

It is highly unlikely for a walking person to to have his guts burst open from a fall. He must have fallen from a height (that being a tree) to have such a trauma to the body.

The scriptures clearly confirm each other...

While the hanging and fall have logical translations, they do not completely exclude other possibilities.

Judas hanged himself by using a tree that was overhanging one of the hills that surrounds Jerusalem. With temperatures approaching 125 degrees it would not have taken very long for his body to start decomposing. This would result in gasses building up inside his torso.

Eventually his body was found, and the rope was cut. With their taboos against touching the body of a dead person, expecially one who had hanged himself, there was probably no attempt made to 'cushion' Judas' fall. Depending on the height above the base of the hill that the tree was located on, the temperature at that location, and the length of time that it took to find Judas' body after he died, his internal gasses could have gotten to the point at which when his body 'hit bottom', it burst open in much the same manner as a balloon filled with water bursts open when dropped from a height.
