I used to fear witnessing to people. A friend of mine stumbled across wayofthemaster.com and found it to be extremely effective. He was actually selected to attend their 7 day seminar in CA last Spring. The techniques they use/teach are straight from the Bible and very easy for anyone to do without fear (no it doesn't cost anything either). You shouldn't be afraid of what man thinks you should rather fear God anyways.
I've used the teqhniqes on three occasions at the park on the Air Force base that I live near, on the weekends, talking to trainees ranging from 18-24 years old and have seen 7 or 8 people lead to the Lord -planting seeds in dozens of others (in less than 4 hours). I haven't seen that many people brought into our church in the past two years!!! People are very open to Spiritual things (the harvest is ripe) they are just confused and often mistaken about Christianity and simply need guidance. Many unfortunately believe they are already saved but are obviously lost souls. They are the hardest ones to witness to.
If we as Christians go through our lives without leading anyone to Christ, I venture to say our lives were wasted. What did we accomplish towards the Kingdom? All we worked for was self gratification, there would have been no difference in the world if we had never been born at all.
Yes we can live holy lives and people may say "so and so sure is a good person" but what will that truely accomplish? The answer is nothing unless we plant seeds and share our faith. That is why we are on this earth, don't waste your precious lives by fulfilling your own wants and needs, help others into the Kingdom of God instead.

I was reading my own post and it sounds a little more harsh than I had intended it to. My view point is not if you never lead anyone to Christ, you are a total waste as a Christian, though it seems to read that way.
As Christians we tithe, give money/food to the poor, support missionaries that see people being saved, provide clothing to the needy, the list goes on and on. God instilled a caring Spirit within each of us and good works are a fruit of our salvation.

the only way for me to 'witness' to my parents is to be there for them, and help them out. I've tried telling them about being born again~ my mom would say that she doesn't believe in the 'born again' c***, and my dad joked that he 'belongs to the ROUND church, there's no four corners to catch me in' (I go to West Salem Foursquare) For all I know, they KNOW the truth, but they deny it by yelling or joking. :sigh:
