Why do people wish to survive da Bomb? I'd prefer ground zero: instantaneous translation to glory. The superheated ionized radioactive blast travels at light speed, and you'll be dead before your nerves can tell your brain you're burning.

Most of the southern hemisphere would survive. No, life on earth would not end. Human life wouldn't even end.
It would be, however, somewhat Seventh Seal-ish in the northern hemisphere.
